Juliet
Linnet (either LIN-et or lin-ET)
Rue

I like all of these names.
I like Abigail, though it's overused. (And honestly... while I do like it as a name, I don't think I find it all that pretty.)Joy is fine. A bit insubstantial for my taste.Juliet is nice, and I do prefer this spelling to the overly flowery Juliette spelling.Linnet is a name I completely associated with an Agatha Christie character. (Don't ask which book, I don't remember.) My inclination is to pronounce it lin-ET, a la Lynette, but I do think I prefer Linnet.Rue = Rue McClanahan. Not a given name for a child, though appropriate for a beloved and iconic actress.
Abigail is fine, although a bit gloomy.
I appreciate Joy.
I find Juliet very pretty, especially with this spelling.
Linnet reminds me of linen, so I prefer a different spelling.
Rue is good but I haven't experienced it firsthand and it's therefore hard to develop much of an opinion.
That's so interesting that you find Abigail "gloomy". I've never thought of it that way! Does Abigail conjure up a certain association for you?
Abigail - It's very pretty.Joy - so cute and nice name. Juliet - nice, sweet, and very pretty name. It is associated with Romeo and Juliet. Linnet - it's okay but I prefer LynetteRue - not bad but I prefer Ruth.
Abigail is okay.
Joy is a really happy and warm name!
Juliet is pretty, but also very princess-y and sounds kind of tragic, like the Capulet.
For Linnet, I say lin-ET. I prefer Lynette, but I like the sound either way. Better than Lynn.
I don't like Rue.
I'm very, very sorry to say this but... I am over Abigail. It's so popular it's become bland.
Joy is pretty.
Juliet is classic.
Linnet is nice.
Rue is adorable. Very cute, but I prefer it as a nickname.
Abigail - I like it, feels cosy and familiar. I hope it doesn't leave the top 100.
Joy - while not a favourite when it comes to virtue names, I like its merry, euphoric vibe.
Juliet - it reminds me of the song by Robin Gibb. It's ditzy, delicate and accessible.
Linnet - I like it way better than Wren, but I also prefer Lynette to a greater extent. Lynn could make a good nickname.
Rue - I like the connection with the plant, but I think it's too short. Rue is better as a nickname for Ruby or Ruth.Order of preference:Juliet > Abigail > Joy > Linnet > Rue
I find Abigail drab and uninteresting, and Abby unpleasant. I could live with Gail as an independent name.
Joy is delightful! My daughter is Beatrice, so I wouldn't use Joy, but I like it a lot. Even though the two Joy people I've met have been (1) very quiet, unable to cope at school and (2) large, loud and self-serving.
Juliet is my favourite Juli- name by far, and this is the only spelling I enjoy. I would only use it as a mn, to avoid the nn Julie, which I dislike.
Linnet would be LINet, like the bird. Lynette (linET) would be preferable.
Rue: strange meaning for a given name, and one does rather think of Ophelia: "There's rue for you, and here's some for me; we may call it Herb of Grace on Sundays. You must wear your rue with a difference."
She is on the point of suicide, and feeling rue (regret); those who have driven her to that state must wear their rue (remorse) with a difference - they must acknowledge what they have done, and go on living and feeling their guilt.
I really don't like Linnet and Rue. The others are fine.
Abigail - do not like.
Joy - good meaning, not like sound.
Juliet - ok, prefer Julia / Juliana and Yuliya / Yuliana / Ulyana
Linnet - pretty good
Rue - nice, prefer Rūta
I love Abigail! And Abby makes a nice nickname. Joy is wonderful, and a great virtue. I like Juliet, though it seems a bit rich girly. Not a big fan of Linnet, dosent sound to feminine and reminds me of Lenin. Rue I associate with the Hunger Games of course, so I would use it.
