Andrew, Andy, Drew
I am really liking the name Andrew lately. I do not care for Drew as a nn at all, but I do like Andy. However, I prefer Andrew, not shortened at all. What do you think?

I don't like the NN Drew very much at all. I prefer Andy when he's younger, and then I think Andrew on its own is just fine. That'd be my preference too.

I really like the name Andrew. It just seems very classical and handsome. I like it a lot more than the other classical boy names. I don't like Andy, but Drew is all right. I prefer just Andrew, though.

I think that Andrew is a good name, and I would probably like it even more if it weren't so popular right now. Like you, I like Andrew best without a nickname (there's several other names that I am that way about; some examples are Catherine and Elizabeth for girls).

My son is Andrew (he's 7). We had intended on calling him Drew...but Andrew just stuck. Now, when people call him Andy, or Drew (which is pretty rare, and usually only by a stranger) he'll correct them saying "My name is Andrew".
So I say go for it. It's a wonderful strong, masculine name.

Incidentally, I don't care for Andy, but I really like Drew :-) But I agree with you that Andrew is best when it's not shortened at all.

I agree. Drew sounds aweful. I think Andy is a cute nickname for Andrew when he's little, but whent the kid goes to school, it sounds better as Andrew. L'Eau Qui Pleure

I can't complain. It's a nice normal name, a classic. I personally don't like it, but it is perfectly fine on someone elses child. Andy is okay, and I don't like Drew either.Kristen~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I'm so sick of Andrew, nn or not. It was popular when I was growing up, when I was in my late teens and it's still very popular now. A couple of years ago, every other little boy I met was named Andrew. :-/ I don't dislike it, it's just dull and overused imo. If I had to pick a nn, I prefer Drew to Andy, but both are fine. I'd even prefer Ander, Anders or Anderson to Andrew, though.
