Meaning & History
From the biblical place name, now an Arabic city in northern Israel (see Nazareth). In the New Testament it is referred to as the home town of Jesus Christ, and is used as one of his titles: Jesus of Nazareth.It is also a Spanish variant of Nazaret, as well as an Armenian alternate transcription of the same name.
