I say MIE-kah and KER-stin, but that doesn't mean it's correct...

Kerstin is pronounced as "Cher-stinn"So I think it would be mispronounced and misspelt in USA.I love Kerstin in Sweden, it is sweet and olf-fashioned. But in USA, Kirsten or Kristen might be easier.I would use a longer name as mn. Kerstin Elisabeth, Kerstin Maria, Kerstin Magdalena, Kerstin Linnea.I would pronounce Micah as "My-kah" in USA and other English speaking countries and as "Mee-kah" everywhere else.

Kerstin is nms, but I like Christie.
I like Micah, and pron. it mi (short ee sound)-khah, the Hebrew way. :) I don't care for the English pron which sounds weird to me.

I don't care for Micah or Kerstin. Micah reminds me of the word Formica, and Kerstin looks odd to me with the e, and it's harsh sounding, I think. Even though I don't care for it, I'd prefer the spelling Kirsten. I pronounce Micah as My-cuh. As for middle name suggestions for Kerstin, I suggest Kerstin Miranda.

I really like Micah on either sex. I don't like Kerstin, but I think Kirstin is OK. (They are pronounced differently to me.)_____________________________________________________________________"My universe is laced around your wrist; I am the bracelet you sport."Elinor

Micah is MIE-kah, as in MYE-kah or MY-kah. The pronunciation key is provided next to any pronunciation entry, though admittedly it's in rather small font. I quite like Micah (for a boy only, since it was a male name in the Bible), it sounds sweet and offbeat to me.I don't really care for the look of Kerstin though. If your German or Swedish, I would of course recommend Kerstin to honour your heritage, but otherwise I prefer the Scottish spelling of this name, Kirstin. As for the sound, it's very pretty, but somehow rather bland to me.EDIT: Clarified and slightly expanded Micah's gender issue.

I did look at the pronounciation key but I have heard it pronounced both ways (Sarah says me)I admit I would probably only use Kerstin if I married a German boy ;)Thanks :)Alice

Ah, OK then. I wasn't sure you understood the pronunciation key. :-)Slightly off-topic... MEE-kah is how you would spell the pronunciation Sarah gave you in the BtN key. I tend to find BtN's pronunciation key very easy to understand once you know what's what, so I tend to use the key when I write my own pronunciations.

I like Micah (My-ak) I would use it but feel its a little too popularKerstin is a turn off, just because of the one I know. And its too close to Kristina, so I feel like its just trying to be different with another name similar.
