[Opinions] Welsh family
A Welsh couple Elaine Romaeo, 35, and her husband Tony, 51, named their five children after Greek, Roman and Egyptian mythology. The eldest is Romeo Casanova Valentino, 12, next is Venus Valentine, 11, then Angel Aphrodite, 10, Isis Ise, 3, and Achilles Spartacus Mars, 2. The couple are calling their next boy (due in 4 weeks) Caesar Augustus Constantine.
Elaine Romaeo said:
"Instead of getting an A-Z of baby names I bought some history books and found some of the most famous names ever. "At first we chose a love theme with Romeo and Venus Valentine but now we have widened it a bit. "And when the new arrival comes in four week's time he will be named after three Roman emperors. "That's got to be better than names like Jack, Oliver and Daniel which are okay, but a bit too popular for us." Source: news.bbc.co.uk
While most of these names are a bit too much for me, I like Valentine, Angel, Mars and Augustus on their own. But their oldest is Romeo Romaeo?

Romeo Romaeo? That aside, I appreciate the thought that went into these names. Caesar Augustus Constantine is my favorite combo. I sincerely hope that Romeo and Venus are genetically blessed. It would be difficult going through life with those names with less-than-stellar looks. ;-)

It's okay for someone else, but not me. I think the sibset is a bit over the top with the theme, but the names themselves are nice. Except I dislike Achilles. It reminds me of the Achilles Tendon, and as a PT student I've seen and heard way too many horror stories about people tearing their Achilles Tendon. So that name sends a shiver up my spine. Besides, I'd take Jack, Oliver, and Daniel over them any day :)

Good for themI honestly think the only think wrong with that sibset is what you pointed out - Romeo Romaeo? Repetition's never good, even leaving out the small fact of the very famous speech beginning "Romeo, Romeo . . ." And the Valentino / Valentine thing is a little odd.But otherwise, that's a brilliant sibset and I salute the parents for it. Hopefully the kids will grow up to appreciate their names. :)
