The only Sydney I know is a girl in first grade. It isn't common, but I don't think it's 'out there' either.

It's a GP of mine. I don't love it, but I like it and it made it onto my PNL somehow. I think it would be accepted pretty well in my area (northeastern USA), where there's kind of a Victorian revival thing going, but I'm sure if I used it, which I wouldn't anyway, I'd never hear the end of it from my dad. I don't like it on a girl.

I have never met a male Sidney. I've met a few little girls named Sydney so maybe it's making a comeback?
I think it's an okay name but it does have a feminine feel to me... but that may be because I have only met little girls with the name.
