[Opinions] WDYT of Edith?
Its been growing on me lately. She would probably get called Edie for short most of the time but I love the soft "ith" ending and its such a spunky little name.Ruby, Vivienne, Elisabeth and Edith as a sister-set perhaps? (would go by Ruby, Vivi, Bess and Edie)Any combo suggestions?Edith Emmeline just came to me but I'd love some more :-)Thank you!

It's really nice! It goes well with your other names, except maybe Elizabeth because of the repeated "th" ending.

I was at school with an Edith Linda Marie who was a spoilt little brat who specialised in synthetic tears. And in a top South African comic strip there's an Edith who's an old English woman with a 19th-century mindset who drinks gin and tonic 24/7. But the name's good.Edith Valeria could work. Edith Philippa. Edith Joan - beautifully medieval!

Growing up in the 70's the name Edith was forever tied to the character Edith Bunker in "All in the Family." If you've never seen the show, Edith is a loveable, but hopelessly frumpy house wife. And that's the image I had of the name Edith. But then I learned that Edith was popular in Victorian times because it was part of the Anglo-Saxon / medieval retro-thing they loved. One of the great beauties of England was Edith Aylesford (sp?). So I began to see Edith in a new light. Names that transport me back in time delight me. An Anglo-Saxon maiden named Edith began to take poor Mrs. Bunker's place in my mind. The soft "-ith" part was intriguing. Then, I fell in love with the adorable nn Edie. So Edith, nn Edie, is aces in my book now. Love it to pieces.Ruby, Vivi, Bess and Edie are adorable together. I especially love Edie and Bess. (I thought I was the only person who liked Bess as a nn.)Edith Margaret / Marjorie
Edith Morwenna
Edith Matilda / Maude
Edith Eleanor
Edith Frances
Edith Winifred (too much "ed?")
Edith Beatrice
Edith Josephine

Edith Eleanor is charming. Eleanor is a pretty big family name for me as well so bonus points!
Edith Matilda is lovely (and adds a bit of 'Aussie' to the name :-D)
I love the flow of Edith Gwendolen. Edith Cora is so so sweet! So is Edith Clara! So many great combos...so hard to pick a favourite!Edith Eleanor Clara? WDYT? My great-grandma was Margaret Eleanor and my cousin (who I plan to honour if I have a daughter) is Claire so that would actually be kind of perfect. Thanks so much!

I like it a lot, and I love the sibset. It's a little retro and yet spunky at the same time. For combos, how about:
Edith Penelope
Edith Marianne
Edith Therese
Edith Ophelia

I think it's pretty much the most adorable name ever! I'd consider using it, but my DH doesn't like it.I think that's a decent sibset. Elizabeth is a bit odd in it, but with the nn Bess it fits better.I haven't worked on Edith combos in forever, but my combo is Edith Isobel. It's a fairly hard name to pair well, I've found.

I love it!! Edith with the nn Edie is gorgeous! It's a very charming name. I love Vivienne (and Vivi) , and Elisabeth is nice too, but i'm not a fan of Bess at all. I love Betty though. Ruby is nms. All the names, apart from Ruby imo, go well together. And Edith Emmeline is nice, I love Alliterate names atm.

I love Edith! It's so cute. And Edie is such a cute nickname too.I was going to say that Elisabeth and Edith seemed a little close for siblings, but if they would be Bess and Edie (awww!) most of the time then it don't think it's a big deal, really.Edith Emmeline is really cute! My favorite Edith combo is Edith Felicity, personally.

I love Edith. I think it is beautiful and underused, though some people today may think it is just old. I think it would work well with Ruby and Vivienne, but I don't see it working with Elisabeth. Probably because both have the E beginning and -th ending.
