[Opinions] Elisabeth (ETA)
I've never been particularly fond of Elisabeth or Elizabeth, but I experienced an epiphany several days ago, and now I'm smitten with the dignified and timeless Elisabeth (Elizabeth doesn't do anything for me.). What do you think of the name? I think Betty is my favorite nickname for it, but I also love Bess, Bessie, and Betsy. Also, I'm loving Elisabeth as a sister to Henrietta and Leopold. Is that not a deliciously regal sibset? What about the following combinations? I've starred my favorites:Elisabeth Ada

I kind of like the Elizabeth spelling, I like using a "z".Here's an actual combo, my cousin's name,
Elizabeth Kathleen. She's always called Beth, my favourite nick-name, I also like Libby.

Elisabeth is very regal to me. It makes me think of 18th and 19th century, aristocratic women -- the ones with two and three mns. Elisabeth Jadwiga jumps out at me today. What a wonderful combination of styles / attitudes. If I could complete the European princess vibe in my head, I'd make her Elisabeth Jadwiga Margarethe Eugenie. She would be betrothed to Ernst Maximilian Philippe Auguste. (They're both from land near the French and Germanic borders and thus never quite sure which style to use. Hedging bets, name-wise.)Elisabeth, Henrietta and Leopold are super cute together.

I like Elizabeth, but I don't like Elisabeth at all. For some reason, I just really dislike the look of the 's' in the name.Regardless of spelling, I love that this name has so many nickname options and I love a lot of the nicknames for it...Eliza, Lizzy, Libby, Lisbet, Lilibet, Bess, Bessie, Bet, Bets, Betsy, Betty...These combos are nice (with the 'z' spelling ;) )...Elisabeth Adele
Elisabeth Eugenie
Elisabeth Ione
Elisabeth Jemima
Elisabeth Johanna
Elisabeth Martine
Elisabeth Maud / Maude
Elisabeth Paloma
Elisabeth Rowena

As an Elizabeth - I hate it! as I name lover Elisabeth is the better spelling. Betty, Betsy (which was going to be my nn.)and Bess all sound like cows (not trying to be mean but thats what I think large black and white cows). Elisabeth on a whole is beautiful the nn. stink. If only there was a cutter nn. Ellie would be cute or Isa would work better for me.
Elisabeth Octavia = fav combo

I happen to prefer Elizabeth to Elisabeth (even though Elizabeth is far more common); in fact, Elizabeth is probbaly my favorite feminine name. I don't know--I think I just like the 'z'. And I also admire Queen Elizabeth I. My favorite first + middle combo is Elizabeth Everly, and I like the nickname Lilly. Libby is fine too, I guess. But I'd want to stay as far away from Liz/Lizzie as possible.Out of your combos, though, I like best:
Elisabeth Adelaide
Elisabeth Arnaude *
Elisabeth Imelda
Elisabeth Ione
Elisabeth Leona
Elisabeth Odile

I have to be honest with you, I'm completely he opposite on the whole S or Z thing, I much prefer Z. I get Elisa from Elisabeth, which is very like Alyssa and it's variations, from which I have bad associations. I also don't like Betty, it's very old to me. But negative Nancy aside(sorry), I agree that the name itself is very timeless, and I think that sibset is just darling. My favorite combo is Elizabeth Wren, but I also like Linnea, Celeste, Soleil, and Josephine as mns, among others.

I definitely prefer Elisabeth to Elizabeth. I don't know why, but Elisabeth has always looked younger and prettier to me.I'm an oddball because my favorite nicknames for Elisabeth are Elise, Ellie, and Lisa. Almost everyone says their favorite nicknames are Bess, Bessie, or Elsa, but I love the first three.Out of your combos, I like:Elisabeth Ada
Elisabeth Agnes
Elisabeth Aurelia
Elisabeth Georgina
Elisabeth Johanna
Elisabeth Martine
Elisabeth Mathilde
Elisabeth Octavia
Elisabeth Ramona
Elisabeth Verena
