Baby Names?
So, the fiancee and I are considering trying for our first child soon. We've been discussing baby names a lot. We have a lot of ideas for girls but not a lot of boys. I'd like to hear your opinions on part of our name list and I'd love to know which name you like best for each gender. Thanks in advance!Lila Marie
Lila Mae
Lila Josephine
Lila Autumn
Rosalie Nova
Rosalie Autumn
Rosalie Johanna
Melody Grace
Autumn Grace
Charlie Mae
Charlie Josephine
Micah Alexander
Rowan Alexander
Luis Alexander
Luis Enrique (he would be the third if we went with this one)
Baby's last name would be Canela. If you guys have any other combos or advice, I'd really appreciate it. Fiance is pretty stubborn with names so some of these may sound a little bland to you guys.

I likeMae, Johanna and Grace for girls. If i had to choose one of the first names I'd go with Melody. If Charlie was a nickname for Charlotte I'd definitely choose thatI really likeMicah Alexander and Rowan Alexander. Dislike your spelling on Luis, but like Lewis.

Ah Melody! This is my top name for a girl, I'm not thrilled with Grace in the middle because I find it a tad boring (yes I'm hypocritical because one of my favourite combos has Grace in the middle but I like the alliteration!) What about Melody Eve, Melody Mae, Melody Louise, Melody Melissa, Melody Elizabeth, Melody Maxine, Melody Matilda? :)
I also like Lila and Rosalie, my favourite combos are Lila Marie and Rosalie Johanna. The only one I like from your boys is Rowan Alexander, Micah doesn't appeal to me at all and I prefer Lewis to Luis (which just looks incomplete to me). Some other ideas: Tobias, Isaac, Alby, Roman, Roland, Ferdinand, George, Henry, Quinn, Xander, Oliver, Ulric, James, Jeremy, Tennyson? :)

Lila Josephine and Rosalie Johanna stand out to me as favorites from your girl list. Both are lovely, sweet, and sophisticated and would age nicely, I think. My next choice would be Lila Mae, also sweet, followed by Rosalie Autumn.Because Marie is so frequently used as a middle name, I did not choose Lila Marie, but I would consider using Marie if it honored someone dear to me, especially with an additional middle name...for example, Lila Josephine Marie. For me, Grace Autumn would work better than does Autumn Grace. I like both names, but putting Grace in front feels less like an adjective or description and gives the same idea in a bit more subtle way.I do not care for Melody and Grace together, though I do like both names. I also do not care for the sound or feel of Rosalie and Nova together. For me, Charlie is very masculine. I can appreciate the spunkiness of it as a nickname for a feminine given name, but not standing on its own.Of your boys, I think all are very nice names but Rowan Alexander stands out as my favorite. Really, you can't go wrong with these. :)

I like Lila Mae and Lila Josephine, of your Lilas. :) Marie is boring and Lila Autumn looks nicer than it sounds.Rosalie Nova is pretty cool.I think Grace is a super-boring middle name and I'm not really a fan of Charlie as a full name. I love both Micah and Rowan, but Rowan Alexander flows better.

Lila Marie - pretty, although Marie is somewhat boring. If it has some signifigance (like your middle name or a family/friend's name), then it is fine
Lila Mae - sweet & simple
Lila Josephine - old fashioned but nice
Lila Autumn - I like the names but this is my least favorite of the Lila combos
Rosalie Nova - so gorgeous! and Nova isn't my style at all
Rosalie Autumn - also pretty
Rosalie Johanna - very pretty but I feel like it is too much with each name (first, Middle, last) being three syllabules
Melody Grace - sweet but Melody feels a bit dated
Autumn Grace - pretty. Not terribly exciting but I really like this combo with your last name
Charlie Mae - I much prefer Charlie as a nickname but I can see the appeal. This is really cute. One caveat - Is it too cute? Will it age well?
Charlie Josephine - my least favorite of all the combos--I think Lila and Rosalie sound best with your last name.
Micah Alexander - very nice. This is a great combo. Not sure if I love Micah Canela though
Rowan Alexander - ok. Rowan is too feminine for a boy and too masculine for a girl, imo
Luis Alexander - nice combo. I think this is my favorite. You get another Luis but you also get to use Alexander.
Luis Enrique - I'm not a huge fan of Jr, II, III's but it is nice name

When it comes to which are my favorite first names out of these I'd choose Rosalie and Rowan. I also love Melody, Autumn, and Micah. Lila, Charlie, and Luis are not my style but I like them.My favorite combo for a boy is Rowan Alexander but my favorite combo for a girl is Lila Josephine, they suit each other perfectly but I'm not very fond of the sound of Lila *anela, they both end in the -la sound so it seems a bit much to my ear. I don't care for Joanna because it is too much n and a sound when combined with the last name. Melody Grace goes very well together and sounds great with the surname, my only qualm is with Grace being such a filler mn. Rosalie Autumn doesn't flow as well as Melody Grace does with the surname but it flows well enough and I happen to adore both Rosalie and Autumn so in your place this would be my favorite. Rosalie Mae flows better with the surname than Rosalie Autumn but I still prefer Rosalie Autumn, it flows well enough and I love both names, also Mae is very filler as a mn even if it flows well in most combos.Charlie Mae is very cute even if it isn't my style and it goes well with the surname. Charlie Josephine is another good combo though it doesn't flow as well with the surname as Charlie Mae and I also like Charlie Autumn, but it doesn't flow as well as Charlie Mae.

Wow! Tons of advice. Thank you!I've recently discovered my love for the name Rosalie and I think it's my top pick at the moment. Also, I've been thinking about what I'd call my son if I decided to make him a third. I call my fiance Luie and everyone else calls him Lou or Luis (most people pronounce it like Louis, except his family who pronounce it the Spanish way.) His father goes by Enrique. Apparently in the Dominican Republic it is very common for people to go by their middle names... so calling him Enrique is out. I wouldn't want him to have the same name/nicknames I'd call my husband... it gets too confusing. I grew up in a house with two men named Dale (brother and father)... I hated it. Any suggestions?
I think my top picks out of this bunch of names are Rosalie Autumn, Rowan Alexander, Lila Josephine, and Micah Alexander.

Congratulations on talking about baby names for a real child. :-)Lila Marie -- Love Lila but Marie (my mn) is very bland. Lila Maria would please me more, especially with the surname.Lila Mae -- Lila may do what? Eh.Lila Josephine -- This one has more personality than the first two. Very nice.Lila Autumn -- I'm not a fan of Autumn. It sounds so sad as a name.Rosalie Nova -- Rosalie is lovely. I'm not sold on Nova. I keep thinking of dying suns, public television and cars, not a person. Rosalie Autumn -- This flows well.Rosalie Johanna -- Very nice. Johanna is German, but always sounds Biblical with the similarity to Hannah. Actually, Hannah Rosalie / Rosalie Hannah used to be a stock combo of mine. (I make a lot of polls in another section of this site.) Melody Grace -- I like Melody and love Grace, but not together. I rarely like two nouns combined. It sounds more like a phrase than a name.Autumn Grace -- See Melody Grace.Charlie Mae -- I hate Charlie on a girl, sorry. It's OK as a nickname for something like Charlotte. But on its own it's too masculine.
