I hear this was the name of Lord Byron's daughter-niece. I think it's pretty, but I wouldn't use it just for that reason. What do you think? Any good combo ideas?

Isn't it pronounced Med- and not Meed-?
If it's a contraction of Metrodora or an elaboration of Medea (two possible derivations that have been offered), it would not be Mee-dora. I think Medora would be a weird pronunciation, like pronouncing Melanie "Mee-lanie" or Melissa "Mee-lissa."

It reminds me of a liqueur, but I'm pretty sure I'm thinking of midori.

It sounds like a fictional wicked witch's name. Miss Gulch could as easily have been Medora as Elmira.
