Scandinavian girl names
Could you share some of your favorite girl names with Scandinavian roots? We were going to use Anders Benjamin for our baby, but we found out it's actually a girl.

Ingrid is one of my favorite Scandinavian names, but it seems to be rising in popularity. Emma is a Germanic name that has been used in Nordic societies with some frequency. I also like Ylva perhaps because it means she-wolf and Tora which could be derived from Thora. Some Scandinavian names:
Sigrid
Astrid
Eira
Johanna
Kristin
Maren
Ragna
Runa
Signy
Siri
Sunniva
Thora
Tyra
Eydis
Unna
Anja

The name Skylar / Skyler derives from Schuyler, which I am told is Scandinavian.

Astrid and Linnea are my favorites and name I would actually use in real life. A name that is not in the database but was very common in the late 1800's is Elna. If Ellen hadn't been my favorite name, Elna would have been in my top 3.Other names:
Ebba
Sigrid
Elin
Moa
Lovisa
Majken
Kajsa
Hedda
Ronja
