Maybe because it's more impressive than "100 descendants"? They have 53 grandchildren. That's like if I said I had 124 grandparents because I have 4 grandparents, 8 great-grandparents, 16 great-great-grandparents, 32 great-great-great-grandparents, and 64 great-great-great-great-grandparents.
(Mine's just less impressive because 98% of them are dead).

It IS pretty impressive that the only name used twice is Isabella. And Michael/Mike but that's probably honoring. Picking a name must be so difficult in this family; cousins are probably always stealing your name ideas.
