Margaret and George.
Elizabeth & can't choose because I like them all. :/
Girls: Margaret. Never saw the appeal of this name (sorry moms of adorable little Margarets!). Jane is kind of dowdy as well. Elizabeth is boring, but it's still a very beautiful name.
Boys: John, it's so boring and overused. I actually rather like all of the others.

Catherine etc, and Edward
Richard & Ann/e.
Jane and Richard
Incidentally, I heard a woman calling out to a little girl - about four years old - called Anne (or Ann) today. I like Anna way better, but it was interesting to see!

Jane and Edward.
I dislike most of the female names you listed, but I think Jane is the worst. The male names I like or are alright, but Edward isn't one of my favourites.

Least favourites are Ann/e and George I just find them boring and I know to many people with those names. I don't mind Anna or Geordie but Ann/e and George are not my favourite names

I guess Margaret and Richard are my least favorites, but my least fave classic names overall are Hannah, Sarah, Matthew, and Michael.

Jane and George
It's probably horrible of me to say that my least favorite is my own grandmother's name, but I just do not see the appeal in Jane!

Katherine and George, though I still like them both.
Margaret and Thomas.
I don't hate either one, but the others are just more significant to me personally.

Elizabeth & John
Although my best friend and soul mate is named Elizabeth, I find the name painfully jejune. I think what bothers me is that it features so many letters and an objectively unusual series of sounds, but the combined overall effect is feckless. However, I love Elisabeth and variants Erzsebet, Elspeth, Elzbieta, Elisabetta, etc.
John is barely more than an uninspiring sound for me. Even the nicknames fall flat (whereas Elizabeth's nicknames rescue it from the maw of vacuity).

Definitely Jane, though I'm far from crazy about any of the others.
For the boys? Probably Edward. I like most of them, and there isn't anything really wrong with Edward, it just doesn't do a thing for me.

For girls, definitely Ann (though I love Anne). I hate how it looks. For boys, it's a toss-up between Edward and George. I'll go with Edward since Prince George has softened me on George ever so slightly. Edward is so ugly. "dw" is a horrible sound.

I meant to add that I equally dislike all those names except Catherine and William.

John and Mary
Mary has so many better sounding related names whether it's the nickname for a Maria Luisa in Marisa, Marika, or a Mia which many consider insubstantial.

Jane and John, I suppose. I honestly like them, but a lousy John association makes both feel unusable for me.
