I like just plain Julia. It's ancient and contemporary at the same time. Also, I don't know a single one!

I enjoy the perhaps unexciting Julia Helen as a combo. It just seems so composed and timeless.

Both are lovely. I prefer Julia. I like Therese as a middle name for either.

Well, you can probably guess which one I prefer. ;) But Juliana is also lovely.

I don't like Gwendolen much, but Julia Gwendolen is quite nice.

I pronounce it like you do, joo-lee-AH-na. But I prefer Julia by far. I think Julia is classic and timeless, always in fashion. The elaboration of Juliana is unnecessary and overly-frilly for me.

What about Juliet and Julie? They are usually considered along with Julia and Juliana. Personally, I love Juliet and I constantly go back and forth on which I like more, Julia or Juliet. Julie, on the other hand, I don't really care for because it seems slightly dated.

I prefer Julia because it's less frilly. I usually pronounce Juliana like Julie+Anna, making it a rare exception to my usual "Ana= AH-na" approach.

Julia Gwendolen is so pretty, but I'd prefer Julia Gwen or Julia Gwyneth just to mix up the syllables some.

I love both. I agree with you, Julia has a more timeless feel, but I think Juliana sounds a little more exotic and unique, as it's not as common. I'm voting for Julia today, and I really like Julia Gwendolen as a combo. You can't go wrong with either name though.

What about Gwendolen Juliet?
