I know the mother of twin girls born this year: Melissa Dorothy and Phoebe Edna. Both mns have strong family links.
I like Dorothy (also a family name for me) and Dorothea but probably only as mns - that said, I dislike sniffy Melissa and antique Edna (family too, but that's not enough to sway me), and I find the look of Phoebe much nicer than the sound.
I think my choice of either Dorothy or Dorothea would depend on how it flowed with the fn and the ln.
