Aurora or Aurelia?
I had a dream last night that I was trying to decide between these two names for my third baby (not the case yet, but maybe my subconscious is trying to tell me something ;o) ).Anyway, I woke up before I could decide, but I know I was pretty torn. Right now I'd go with Aurora, but I'm not sure. WDYT? Which one would you choose? Any mn suggestions?

Aurelia, I find Aurora very difficult to wrap my tongue around.

I strongly prefer Aurelia.

I like them both a lot. In non English speaking countries I'd go with Aurora. It just sounds really beautiful, especially with an Italian accent. In an English speaking country I'd choose Aurelia. I think Aurora sounds really ugly pronounced the English way (no offense).

No worries, none taken ;o). I wasn't a big fan of either name to be honest so I have no idea what caused this particular dream...But they're starting to grow on me.Anyways, I do love the Italian pronounciation of Aurora better, and the French one on Aurelia (Aurelie). They just seem to flow better in those languages.Lea

AuroraAurelia brings back too many bad memories for me. Aurora is so much prettier anyways.

Aurelia is so ugly.I really cannot see the appeal at all. It makes me feel icky. Aurora, 100%

Exact ooposite. Aurora gets sickening after a while.

Both names are gorgeous, but I tend to like Aurelia more.I fear the male nn Rory from Aurora. As a general rule I'm neutral on established male nns for girls, ex: Georgia --> nn Georgie, Miranda --> Randi. It's just that Rory is relatively new to most parents these days, here in the U.S. I don't want it solidifying in their minds that Rory is a girl's name. Does that make sense? How are you pronouncing Aurelia? I prefer "o-RAY-lee-uh," but "o-REE-lee-uh" is nice too.

Yes it does make sense :o). I knew an Aurora once and her nn was Aura so I never really thought about any other nn for Aurora. I'm generally not a huge fan of nn. I mean sometimes they can really take away the special element of a name. I pronounce Aurelia o-ree-lee-ah.
Any mn suggestions :o)?LeaP.S. edited to sign :o)

How strange. I always pronounced it as ow-REH-lee-uh. Anyways, I would choose Aurelia. If it was Aurore, I would choose that, but I'm not the biggest Aurora fan.
