Geraldine...
I've always thought this name was frumpy and unappealing, but it's starting to grow on me, especially as a middle name. WDYT? I like a lot of old fashioned names, so that's not really a problem, but is this one just too ugly?

I adore it, but do not care for the nickname Gerry. My grandmother (in her 90's) is Charlotte & her sisters were Elsa Katherine, Geraldine, and Lenore. It's a nice old strong name, but needs an updated nickname I think, but I don't know what. Dina? Gi?

I think it's ugly. I had a friend of this name, back when I was eleven to twelve years old, who was obese and not at all attractive, so I always always associate it with her. Although she was a nice girl, otherwise I wouldn't have been friends with her, her physicality always comes to mind when I hear this name, so the association is a negative one.

This is my grandmothers name. And she hates it. She goes by Geri which she likes a little better, and I would like to use it to honor her, but I think that she would kill me for doing so, lol. I find it kind of clunky cool if you get what I mean, but a lot of people think it's ugly.

As a middle name I like it. As a first name I dont because she would be called Gerri...

I love Geraldine! I think its slight ugliness is interesting and gives it a lot of character. To me it feels very domestic and motherly, and it's a neat combination of brown and a sort of dark turquoise, with a tiny bit of red thrown in.

I like it a lot, much due to the fact that it's one of Anne Shirley's favourite names. I don't see anything ugly about it. In fact, I find it quite feminine, but I don't think it'll throw of the stigma of being old-fashioned anytime soon.

I really like Geraldine, especially as a mn like you said. I'm not sure how I feel about it as a fn. It's one of those names that I'm not sure I'm confident enough in to use it as a fn. I'd be endeared if I met a little Geraldine though. As a mn, I think it would complement another old fashioned name well.

I don't think of it as ugly. Kinda plain and simple, but preferable to a lot of the trendy names... and can go by Gerri if she likes. If I met a little Geraldine, I'd think it a refreshing change from Lily, Emily, Sophia, Rachel, Sarah, Olivia, Ava, Chloe, Isabella, Grace, Abby, Maddison, etc.

My name is Geraldine and I'm your social worker...It reminds me of a Glasvegas song, that's what made it grow on me! I kind of like it, and I've always adored Geri for a girl.

I don't find Geraldine appalling but at the same time I don't find it attractive, at least to me.
