What does arvo mean? In Australia it's afternoon, like "what are you doing this arvo?" so it strikes me as a very, very strange name. I literally laughed when I saw it. Also Mate. That would be hilarious, everyone would just call the child "maaaaaaaaaaate."

Besides of meaning "afternoon" in Australian English, Arvo is also a Finnish word for "value" and "worth" :)

Praise, Fortune, Gracious, Goodwill, Miracle, Prayer, Precious etc are quite possibly kids from African families, who often like to give English names that reflect the meanings of African ones. No weirder than Theodore, when you think about it; in fact, thinking about it, it's strange that English-speakers so rarely give names that mean something in their own language, and generally prefer them to mean something in another language! Or be spelled wrong. Like Auttumme. ;(

Most of these are way OTT for my tastes. In fact, they almost make Auttumme look good, lol. These seem especially silly/problematic to me:Argyle
Clemency
Cozy
Daiquiri
Divine
Fox
Freedom
Godstreasure
Gold
Hero
Jersey
Lullaby
Rock
Sailor
Shine
Silver
Twinkle
Velvet
Atlas
Bear
Come (This is ripe for teasing, imo.)
Courage (I appreciate the thought behind the name, but no.)
Dodge
Dung (Really?)
Godswill
Mace
Mate
Mortem (Whaa?)
Precious (This is especially bad for a boy. What boy/man wants to be called Precious?)
SultanI actually like very few but otoh, I really like them:Eden
Eve
Joy (For a boy, this does not work.)
Juniper
Justice
Rose
Rosemary
Rowan (but for a boy only)

Celestine - for a girlI guess Dung's parents are Vietnamese, but still, to choose that name when you live in an English-speaking country...
Godstreasure and Godswill - yuck.

Jersey and her brother Denim, perhaps? Argyle on both the boy and the girl lists is unexpected - for the record, it is a place name as well as a fabric design, and so is Paisley. And Roux is a surname and a sauce.I'm getting very bad feelings about Godswill and Godstreasure. I can imagine them as premature twins who only lived for a few brief moments. Hope I'm wrong, though living with names like those could be tough unless they belong to a very specific kind of community.

You could be right about that. OTOH, I did know a family once who included 'yah' (short for Yahweh) into all their children's names (i.e., Jewelyah ['jewel of Yah'] or Rosiyah ['rose of Yah'] so it is possible that these parents (and it does sound like the same set of parents named these two babies) just preferred heavily religious names.
