I or E middle name
I am looking for an I or E middle name for a boy. We want to honour Grandma, who was called Ida (short for Idunn), so maybe a way to masculinize it, or a name with a similar sound or roots? It can't be a name ending in 'n' though, we already have one of those. Tricky, huh?

Idan would be the obvious choice to me.

You have already gotten a lot of good suggestings, so I only have one name to add.Emil
Astrid Lindgren wrote books about the siblings Emil and Ida.

Can't end with -n, eh? Idan would have been perfect! There is the Welsh name Idris? I'm not sure how to pronounce it though.I also like FanficWriter86's suggestion of Ira.Some other ideas:
Isaiah
Isidore
Ilar
Ilia / Ilya / Ilyas
IsraelEder
Edric
Ezra
EduardAlso, perhaps you could honor Grandma by the meaning of Ida, which is "work, labour". George is a great name and means earthworker. I believe Emeric has a similar meaning.Good luck!

Well, besides the great suggestion of Ira below, Isak (scandanavian form of Isaac) would work well. It fits the cultural significance of Ida or Idunn, as well as the syllable count and the first letter. Ivar or Ivor would match those characteristics as well.

Ira? Or is that too old-timey for you? lol

Ira was a great suggestion. I second that!
