No thank you. Harper is too surnamey for me, and Ellis and Shane are both strictly male names to me.

Ugh...No,no and no! I don't like Harper or Ellis for either. Shane is a very nice boys name. If I could cure world hunger or have world peace by naming a daughter one of these, I guess I'd choose Ellis only because El or Ellie would be a suitable nn.

When I hear Harper I assume girl, because it's very trendy for girls now (due to Harper Lee and the Beckhams). The only Harper I actually know is an 8 year old boy, though. I think I liked the name before it became trendy, but once names enter the top 20, I am tired of hearing them and can't look at them objectively anymore. I never mind true classics like Elizabeth, Anna, Daniel, Michael, etc. Ellis sounds more masculine to me, but I know that a lot of people are taking any name that starts with El- and making it feminine these days. It bugs me, but I'm powerless to stop it, so I try not to stress out about it. I would never expect Shane to be a girl. I like it fine for boys, though. If I heard of three siblings with these names, I would assume that their parents were white, middle class, and trend-followers, and I would guess that they were all under 12 years old. I think I would guess that Harper and Ellis were girls and Shane was a boy.

I like Harper. I prefer it for a girl, but I like it for a boy too.I dislike both Ellis and Shane - regardless of gender but they're even worse on girls.

If you'd ask me if they're 3 boys or 3 girls, I'd expect 3 boys. Harper isn't my thing, but it's okay as a girls name. Ellis would be better as Alice, bc you'd avoid constant correcting of people, and Ellis has a more masculine vibe to me. Shane is all male to me; I can understand that someone would consider it for a girl, the ending sound is just like Jane and the Sh- isn't all male, but I just don't think it would be best for a girl.

Harper & Shane definitely not. I don't like them on boys, and it's even worse on girls. Not sure about Ellis. I adore Ellis on a boy, but for a girl I probably prefer Alice. When I was a child my favorite books were about a girl called Ellis, so I like it because of that.

Harper-of the 3, this is best one for a girl
Ellis-don't like this name in general
Shane-is better for a better name for a boy. Shana would be better for a girl

Ugh, Meh and NoooooHarper - never really been fond of it but I do see it as a girls name.Ellis - this was a boys name until I went to university with a girl called Ellis. Now I see it as unisex and like it okay on both genders.Shane - this is a boys name. I have a male cousin named Shane. I knew a little girl called Shanie (named after her grandfather, Shay or Shane, I can never remember which. She'd be 12 now).

Fine individually but together Shane sticks out too much as its far more old fashioned seeming than Harper + Ellis.

I don't care for Harper. It reminds me of "harp on" - dwelling on a subject annoyingly and monotonously. Trying to put that connection aside, it's okay. I'd rather see something like Hazel, but it's much better than Harlow. I like Ellis. It's a little surname-y, but not excessively. It has an old-soul feel to it. I've never met anyone with this name, and although BtN has it listed as masculine, I saw a female character on a television show with this name so I automatically see it as slightly more feminine, but it strikes me as strongly unisex.I don't really like Shane in general - it just seems incomplete to me. I don't like it as a feminine name. What about Shaina, Shauna / Shawna, Shana / Shanna? Or to be a little more unisex, Shannon.

Hi !!!Harper 8/10 I really like the harp as instrument. It is beautiful, sophisticated with an ethereal sound. That's why I like Harper even if is it is a surname.Ellis 2/10 my only thought is Ellis Island and in my mind is a negative link. I much prefer Elysia.Shane 1/10 on a girl? Awful. Shaina is far better than it.
