Theodore or Damian
Which do you like better:Theodore Daniel (nn Theo)
Damian VincentI prefer Theodore, my husband prefers Damian. (I also love Damian, but slightly prefer Theodore). Husband thinks that Damian is a little more cool, & Theodore more nerdy sounding. Agree? And which name goes better with our sons' names Christopher & Alexander?

I can't get past The Omen assocation with Damian (Damien?), and I think there's even a new "Omen" movie coming out which will only refresh that. :-/ I LOVE Theodore, though. Theo is a nice nn, but I prefer Ted or Teddy. Good luck.

We are TTC our third child, and naturally (since I'm not pregnant again yet) don't know if it will be a boy or a girl. So yes, I posted a boy thread & a girl thread. I see that it is totally unanimous for Theodore, which is my favorite. Damian is a surname on my husband's side of the family, and he suggested it since he knows I love "an/en" endings (Roman, Julian, Adrien, etc). At any rate, I will just have to tell my husband that since I've already given him 2 boys, that I get to pick the name for the third boy (if we indeed have another boy); and besides, that everyone else agrees with me that Theo is cool. Thank you for all of your quick and well thought out responses!

I didn't realise you had a boy's thread too :-)Theodore Daniel nn Theo is fantastic, not at all nerdy in the negative sense. In fact, I think Chris and Alex could be a little jealous of a brother with the very cool nn Theo, lol.Damian just sounds demonic- and possibly a little dated? I know two Damians in their late 20s, and no others.sa

Theodore goes better (closer-sounding ending, which is what my parents did for me and my sisters), and it's just a nicer combo. I love the nickname Theo as well, and Daniel is one of my favourite boy names.I don't think Theodore sounds nerdy at all - I think it's a bit of a classic waiting for a revival. If anything it's Damien that has the negative connotations, because of The Omen.

I love Theodore! A lot! It's one of my short-list-I-would-totally-name-my-own-son-this names. :D Theo is a very cool sounding nn. The only Theo I've ever "known" was the son on The Cosby Show, and he was hot and popular and nice, so I don't see it as nerdy at all. Damian sounds like the name of a little devil child with an ADHD nightmare of a behavior problem. I don't favor that name at all.I also, my own preferences aside, think Theodore matches the style of the other sons' names better.

Theodore is nms but I really like just Theo. Damian is a nice name but I prefer Theo. Theo Vincent and Theo Damian both sound nice imo.

Answer, and an FYIAnd I like Theo Vincent best, but Theodore Daniel works, too. I love nn Theo, and I think that's even more "cool" than Damian. I also think Theodore goes best with your other son's names. Also, please put your own screen name in the Name spot. You could put the names you're asking about in the subject if you want, but for neatness and ease of following your posts, please pick a name and stick with it. :)

Theodore would definitely be my choice. Damian sounds a little trendy, whereas Theodore is a handsome, dignified classic. It also seems to fit better both visually and sound-wise with Christopher and Alexander.

I don't think Theodore is nerdy sounding at all! On the contrary, I think it oozes intelligence and sensitivity. Plus, I think Christopher, Alexander and Theodore sound better as sibling names.
