So many names; so few daughters.Marianne. Good name; I knew a nice one at school; tidily combines Mary and Anne, both family names; if it's good enough for Jane Austen, it's good enough for me.Other likes: May, Michele, Margaret, Marjorie - all honouring. And I also like Mabel, Marina and Miranda, but I don't know where to put them. Moira, I blow hot and cold on.

MayMay was my first name love. I'd still be absolutely delighted to use it.

Mercy...if it's just me, but I know DH doesn't like it. My next choice would probably be Margaret. Additionally, I've already got Miriam as my daughter's MN.

Hmmmmm I would never use my favorite M name, Madeline, because it has sad associations in my family...Oh! Matilda! Perhaps Matilda Mae or Matilda Josephine

Megan-I still like this dated name.

At a cursory glance at the replies I hadn't noticed anyone else choose Miranda, but I knew there was someone else who loved the name! I think you've commented in the past, though, that... your sisters razzed on you for it, or something? (Something about Carmen Miranda, right?) That's pretty bogus of them, lol.

I think there was one other person, but yes, you're right, I've loved Miranda since I was a teenager and my sisters made fun of that, citing Carmen Miranda. They were being such philistines, if you ask me.
