The names run into each other, so the combo isn't sonorous.

I like Mary (though I prefer Maria, Mair and many other variants over it) and Rachel is ok, but not together. It's too biblical, and harsh.

Rachel is a nice name but I don't like Mary. I find the combination quite dated to be honest.

Bland. Bland, boring, and dated. The Rs in Mary and Rachel don’t even sound good together. Why not pick something fresher, like Mira Rochelle or Maia Rochelle?

I like it.

I agree with Anneza. Rachel Mary is much better.

It's better than Mary by itself. But then, Mary Butch is better than Mary by itself.

Mary Butch may possibly become my favourite name combination from now on ;)

God Mary Butch would be hilarious. I'd love to see a little southern girl with a big bow and preppy parents named Mary Butch.

I don't typically like Rachel, but Mary Rachel is a nice combo. The -ee -el endings sound good together. Mary Rachel as a double name is a bit more than I could take. If I met one, I'd expect her to be stern and bossy and... not gentle. But I have a real hangup about Rachel -- real Rachels have been unpleasant in my real life -- and Mary Rachel sounds like an unpleasant nun.

The “-ry Ra-“ part is a little awkward. I like Mary, but Rachel sounds like a grating, scraping sound to me. I assume the appealing aspect of the combo is the recognizable, biblical aspect, so what aboutMary Abigail
Mary Elizabeth
Mary Esther
Mary Hannah
Mary Susanna
Mary Tabitha

It's quite a nice combo, but a little too old-fashioned and simple for my particular liking (though I'm mostly a fan of old-fashioned and simple). It's not my favorite, but it's still pretty good. It's a sort of 'respectable' combo, where I can see why it would be someone's favorite, even though it's not mine.

It’s okay. My main problem is Mary, which I never liked. Rachel, however, is a name I’ve always loved so the Mary part is improved by association.

It's ok, I prefer Rachel mary

I don't enjoy the -ry Ra- blend. Rachel Mary flows better to my ears. I like both names, but I prefer Mary.
