I'd choose Beulah because of the gospel song. It has a very wistful, hopeful sound to it.Beulah Therese & her siblings Reuben Casper and Ingrid Elspeth

Honestly I don’t like either one but if I had to choose I would use Hortense. Beulah sounds like a mean nasty and stuck up older woman in an antebellum romance novel. Maybe the hero’s spiteful mother.

I love Hortense! It's so romantic. Beulah is cute, but I prefer Eula.Hortense Vivienne, Ermengarde Lila, and Cuthbert Henry

I choose Beulah. Why? Hortense sounds manly. I'd name a son Hortense before I name a daughter Hortense, but I wouldn't choose it at all. (No offense to Hortense's out there.)
Beulah Diane ~pretty
Dunstan Marcus ~brother
Her brother needs an uncommon, but strong sounding first name to match her old-fashioned name..I think I did a good job here. *dusts off pants*

Beulah Marion
Sandrina Agnes
Martin JeremyOops - forgot the Why! So, ETA:I knew a girl at school whose younger sister was named Hortense. It was pronounced the French way, except they sounded the H; and they also nicknamed her Tansy, where the Tans had the French nasal pronunciation, the s was an s, not a z, and the y was the usual English ending. That was enough to put me right off Hortense for life. Beulah, then. Sandrina just seemed to fit, and Martin is sturdy and inoffensive. The mns also just seemed to fit. Plus, I don't like any of them, fn or mn! So they should go together well.

Beulah, because Hortense is abominable.

BeulahBeulahBeulah. Beulah Georgiana, and her siblings Demelza Penelope and Ernst Augustus. Yes, I chose first names I think everyone will hate—and I’d do it again! Has anyone seen Come From Away? That makes me like Beulah even more. I’ve never been able to get behind Hortense.
