Re: Any surprises in the 2024 rankings? (USA)
Feminine:-Ailany, Aylani and Ailani, of course
-Scottie unstoppably boosting as a feminine name
-I was about to ask what caused Elodie to spike in popularity, but turns out it was influenced by the Netflix movie Damsel. I wish Floria had also charted
-Adhara
-Solana. What's the reason behind its rise? Sol and Soleil?
-Wrenley didn't go up much because of Wrenlee and Wrenleigh (yikes)
-Glad to see Seraphina getting gradually popular
-Jream. Why are parents choosing this name? The worst thing is that Dream dropped a few spots in 2024 whereas Jream rose
-Marjorie unexpectedly making a comeback. I hope it lingers in the chart
-Alanna's boost in comparison to Alana and Alannah. Is it because of Alianna?
-Alisson? Why this spelling?
-Vienna
-Angie. I thought it was going to leave the top 1000
-Keziah
-Miller as a feminine name
-Deborah and Natasha not leaving the chart
-Halle rising because of Halle Bailey
-Kailany (an import from Latin America?)
-Elowen finally charting
-Icelynn, a guilty pleasure of mine (but I like Icelyn better)
-Romy now not uncommon as a name on its own
-Honey
-Lettie making a comeback (but not Letitia?)
-Guinevere. I was sad when it left the chart in 2023
-Campbell making a comeback for both boys and girls
-Salome reappearing after 116 years (that's mind-boggling). I assume it's because the name isn't rare in Hispanic areas
-Julietta. I've always wanted to see this variant in the chart
-Darcy
-Arisbeth
-Mariella (what made it chart?)
-Lavender
-Freyja and Dior already falling in popularity
-Alexa. I have expected it to fall out of favor, but not that sharplyMasculine:-Colsen (???)
-Eliam. It reminds me of Eli and Liam, so no wonder. I have to say I like it.
-Eliel
-Rocky (why?)
-Benson Boone's influence on his given name
-Jettson, another guilty pleasure
-Dereck (but not Derek)
-Izan and Eithan
-Ryatt (seriously?)
-Kylian dropping and Cillian rising
-Chris going up 123 spots. I thought it was dated
-Casper
-Azaiah
-Zaylen (what is this?)
-Aurelio. It's dated in Spanish-speaking countries
-Carlo
-Azai
-Rowdy (worse than Rocky)
-Arden
-I'm glad to see Cedric back
-Yitzchok is interesting, I like it
-Aspen, Halo and Noa charting for the first time as masculine names, especially the latter
-I remember Evren was often talked about in this board, but never thought it would enter the top 1000 last year, especially since it's a name English-speakers are not familiar with. How would the parents pronounce it?
-Jiraiya about to leave

I pray that Marjorie isn't because of Marjorie Taylor Greene, but most likely...
Totally ruined the name for me 🫠🫠
I wonder the same thing. I mean I didn't care for the name even before her and now it's even worse. 1000 times worse.
Floria is beautiful, I wish it would have charted too!The singer SZA’s first name is Solana so maybe that’s contributed to the popularity as well? Marjorie is definitely a fun surprise to see come back!
Most likely! SZA won the Hal David Starlight Award last year.
