a native american name
I'm not sure of the spelling, but does anyone know anything about Donakya (DON - UH - KAIA)? As far as I know it male and it's north native american. I was thinking of spelling it Danecai - a combination of Dante and Mordecai.~Lisa~

What's "Native American"?Not to sound snarky or anything, but there are literally hundreds of Native American languages. Saying a name means such and such in "Native American" is like saying a name means such and such in "European".Aside from that little rant, I'm afraid I can't be much more help, because Donakya doesn't ring any bells for me. Sorry!

That's the the thing, I dont know ... that's why I'm asking the facts board. All I know is it's a Native American name ... I'm not sure whether it's Cree, Ojibway, Algonquin, Iraquio (sp), or the many other Native American tribes out there. I heard it on two male Native Americans, Indians, whatever you would to call them. I was fairly young when I first heard of Donakya on the radio, he was playing golf. That's all I know.
Thanks for the help.
~Lisa~

Was this man a professional golfer? Perhaps you could look on sites devoted to professional golfers to try to find the spelling, and then it would be much easier to try to find the original language and culture the name was from. And are you sure this is all one name instead of "Don Akaia"?
