[Opinions] Skylar
What do you think of Skylar? Do you prefer it for a girl or a boy? What middle names would you pair with it?I would do Skylar Olivia or Skylar Olivianna for a girl and Skylar River or Skylar James for a boy."They write us off and say it's just another opinion, I'm tired of trying to fit in when I'm one in a million" - The Score

I used to really love Skylar for a girl (for some reason, I see Skylar as more feminine and Skyler as more masculine, I don't know why). Forget why I took it off my PNL - I know at one point it was on my Top 10. I think someone (on these boards) told me my combo sounded like a vapid cheerleader. If I wanted to find the combo, I'd have to really dig into my post / poll history.Skylar Olivia does flow nicely, but Olivianna is just too much, anytime, anywhere. How about...Skylar Susan
Skylar Susanna / Skylar Susannah
Skylar Daphne
Skylar Valerie
Skylar Valentine
Skylar Katharine / Skylar Katherine
Skylar Debra / Skylar Deborah
Skylar Joanna
Skylar Jocelyn
Skylar Josephine
Skylar Annabel
Skylar Imelda
Skylar Emmaline
Skylar Fay / Skylar Faye
Skylar Farrah
Skylar Natalie

Skylar is entirely masculine to me. Honestly it use to feel unisex to me but it’s just suddenly hit me hard with ALL BOY. Especially seeing it next to the likes of Olivia. If I had to pair it on a girl I’d personally have to go with something a little more solid- Skylar Olive is more pleasing to me (Skylar Eve, Skylar Asha). Or something consonant starting, like Skylar Tess(a). Skylar Jane, Skylar Gwyneth, Skylar Vivian, Skylar Mae, Skylar Darcy Skylar River is ok, if not a bit nature heavy. Skylar James is perfect

I love Skylar for a girl. Skyler is okay for a guy.Skylar Olivia is cute, though Olivia is feelig disappointing generic of late.I would not do anything with an -er ending as a match with Skylar. Too close to being rhymey. Skylar James is nice, but Jame sis always a bit filler imo.

While I completely understand why Schuyler became Skylar, I don’t understand why it started being used for girls. I really am not a fan of Skylar Olivia and especially not Olivianna, which is kind of like a Frankenstein’s monster kind of name. Skylar James is great, Skylar River rhymes too much. Also I just realised I don’t have Schuyler on my list which I should so thanks!

The only one that flows well is Skylar James, for a boy. Skylar Olivia has an L-sound clash, and Skylar River almost rhymes.Anyway, I prefer Skylar for a girl and Skyler for a boy.

Skylar is a girl spelling, to me.
Schuyler is the guy spelling. Or Skyler, in a pinch.
I prefer Skylar on a girl over any spelling for a boy. But I don't mind the other spellings on a boy. I just feel like the A in Skylar is telling me it's a she.
Skylar Olivia is nice.
I sort of want to pair it with a K sound middle, just to get the suggestion of sky lark when saying the combo.

I like River but think Skylar River runs together ... the R's. Schuyler Conrad, Skyler Sylvan?
