It's dated like Steven is dated. It's a little more usable because Steve is so stereotyped now, and Mark is not so much. But still, a dad/grampa name. I would not use Mark with a K for a son. But, it's usable.I would use Marcus, called Marc. I really like Marc. It gives me a very different impression from Mark. Evokes the word mark much less, evokes the Bible ever so much less - seems more classic than Biblical; and just isn't as dated.Markus is not so great IMO in English because it's mark us.
Marcel is something totally other. Seems less heroic and more artsy or comic.
