[Opinions] Marcella
All of a sudden, I'm in love with Marcella. It's cosmopolitan but not insufferably so and ancient but familiar (though I love ancient oddities, of course). What does everyone else think?

It's nice. I prefer it to a lot of comparable names, don't love the meaning, but it has a lot of other things (sound, familiar but not annoyingly so, + vibe) going for it.
These combos stood out to me:
Marcella Dido
Marcella Betony
Marcella Ottoline
Marcella Peony
Marcella Vashti
...I guess I'd most like it with unusual, maybe short and/or pithy, maybe floral, names that begin with those letters and don't end in A.
The only of those 5 MNs I like by itself is Vashti, though Marcella Dido seems really fun, so those 2 tie for my fav...and both MNs remind me of singers, hmm.
I think Marcella Rosamund and Marcella Beatrix are great, though they both sound pretty conservative (or chic but doubly old fashioned) to me. They're my 2nd fav.

I don't like it much - it feels dated and unimaginative to me, and I don't like the "ch" sound.
The names always been pretty familiar to me since I knew a hispanic Marcela growing up. I've also known a few girls named Maricela.
I like Marcella Beatrix and Marcella Guinevere best.
