[Opinions] Jane+
What's the best way to spell a name that is Jane+a?
Jayna
Jana
Jaina
... some other way?
WDYTO this name? What about Janel vs. Janelle?
What more-than-Jane name(s) do you like the most? Janet, Janice, Janine etc
Do you like any of them more than you like Jane?
Which do you like more as a first name - Jane, or Jean? What combo would you make with Jane, Jean, or a Jane+ name (whichever you like best) as the first name?- mirfak

I’d spell Jane+a as Jayna. Jayna is a very pretty name, imo. I think Jay would be a pretty cool nickname. I prefer Janelle to Janel; I think Janel looks incomplete. I’m not a huge fan of this name in general, but it would be a nice middle name. Of the other Jane-names you listed, I like Janine and Janet. Janine is a very classy name; it has a certain flair that I don’t get with other names. Janet is another classic name. I just think that it sounds warm and friendly; I’ve only met kind Janet’s. Janice isn’t my favorite.I prefer Jean to Jane, personally. I like them both, though. Jane itself is a nice, fresh, classic name with history. I do love this name, but I feel as if something’s missing? Of all of these names, I’d say that Janine is my favorite. After that, it’s Janet. One thing that I like about the Jane-names is that they can have the nickname Janie. I think that Janie is a cute nickname. Combos:
Janine Kalyssa
Janine Isabelle
Janine Charlotte
Janine BlakeJanet Avery
Janet Isabelle
Janet Corinne
Janet Nadine
Janet Brielle

Jayna (Jana would be pronounced Jan-a)
It's okay, but I'd prefer just JaneJanelle
I don't think I like any of them more than Jane and I like Jane more than Jean.Usually I use Jane as a middle. I hear Jane Ann / Jane Anne sometimes.Jane Alexandra
Jane Louise
Jane Margaret
Jane Faith

My favorite of all of these names is Jane itself.I'm not at all of Jane+a in any spelling. I've known both a Jayna and a Jaena, the latter spelling always seemed rather egregious to me. I really like Jana, but pronounced YA-na.Janelle over Janel, though I'm not a fan of that name in either spelling - Janel looks unfinished, to me. I just don't care for that rather harsh "J" with the "el" sound - it's just never sounded good to my ears.I like Jean, though I think I like Jane more than Jean, particularly as a first name.I would go with something classic and more feminine for a middle name for Jane; Jane can sound kind of harsh, so I think it should be paired with something like Elizabeth or Alexandra.

I don't like Jane at all. Jean is okay, but just okay.
How to spell Jane-plus a depends on how you want it pronounced. I know someone with a daughter around seven named Jayna. Her name's pronounced just like it's spelled, so I'd spell it like that if I wanted that pronunciation. I've seen Jana pronounced Janna, Jonna and Yonna.I'd pick Janelle, this spelling. Janel looks incomplete. Janelle Rebecca?

IRL, I'd use Jane because I like it, Jean because it's a family name or Joanna to honour a Joanna and a Joan. But I wouldn't use all of them! And I wouldn't use a Jane + -a invention at all.I prefer Janelle; the pronunciation is obvious, which helps.I like Janet: cheerful and friendly. I think I prefer it to Jane, but only just. A lot would depend on the rhythm with the ln.Jane Rosamond Helen
Jean Susannah Esme
Janet Elinor Dinah

Janet Prisca! What a bramble. I like it.

Jayna. I dislike it, it feels synthetic and vaguely sci-fi-ish. Janelle > Janel. I quite like Janet, thought not nearly as much as Jane. I prefer Jane to Jean. Jane Antigone is the combo that first comes to mind.

I like Janet, Janelle, and plain Jane herself.
