[Opinions] Delfina
I've been doing some genealogy work lately, and I just learned that one of my father's aunts was named Delfina (sister to Bibiana, whom I previously knew about). My dad was unusually old for someone my age (he was born in 1930; I was born in 1990), so information about his family was often murky. What do you think of Delfina? I'm quite enchanted by it.As for combos, I think my favorite is Delfina Rosemary (also a family name). Some others:Delfina Caroline
Delfina Iris
Delfina Lillian
Delfina Judith
Delfina Blanche
Delfina Beatrice (also a family name, on both sides [Jewish and Italian])
Delfina Sibyl
Delfina Amy (my mom's name)
Delfina Maud(e)

Positively enchanting. It's a very blue, beautiful name.

Gosh I'd be so excited to learn I had a great Aunt Delfina. Sounds like something from a storybook. Enchanting indeed!Delfina Rosemary is very sweet, Rosemary is one of my favourites. I like how it adds a grounding touch to Delfina. Delfina Amy is adorable! I'm really warming up to Amy, it's so gentle and friendly.

Hi!Wordsmith, Delfina Is a fascinating, beautiful name. The sibset Delfina & Bibiana is great (I love rare names but actually a lot of Italians would say that they are too uncommon). Italian taste about names is often very classic and traditional with around 30 names for each gender being very overused and all the others considered rare. The situation has been changing but very slowly compared with other European countries. I hope it will go faster very soon.About Delfina and Bibiana in 2021 (latest data, 2022 ranking due in December):
*Delfina was used for 5 babies born that year (#1679)
*Bibiana was not used for any baby (but 1 in 2020)This was exactly what I was saying: these names are not so strange. Why are they used for a couple of children (or not used at all)? Because so many people choose the same names. I.e.
*Sofia (#1) was used for 5,578 newborns (2.86%)
*Leonardo (#1) was used for 8,848 newborns (4.12%)And lovely names like Delfina are desappearing. No way!Later I'll come back to write some combos.

Hi Felie! Thanks so much for your response and helpful context. It's a shame the same 30 names are reused.

Damn, and I thought my dad being nearly 50 when I was born was considered old. 😳😄
I don't care for Bibiana, but Delfina is lovely. I also like Delphine. From your list, I like: Delfina Caroline
Delfina Iris
Delfina Judith (Don't care for Judith, but it pairs nicely with Delfina)
Delfina Rosemary is also quite lovely.
