Lydia Alys is lovely! I'm also fond of Caio Bryn Japheth, Cadi Lois, and Trystan Pierre.

Caio is wonderful! It brings a smile to my face every time. Er ... what are its origins? I've tried to imagine a Welsh family commemorating Nicholas (OK, Nikolai) or Caius Cassius with his lean and hungry look, but without success.

Caio was originally a nickname for Cai, as in the Sir Kay of Arthurian legend. I like it much better than Cai.

Yay, new Welsh BAs! :-)Elenid looks really pretty. What does it mean?
Is Alys a Welsh name or is it the English variant of Alice, as the database says? Either way, I quite like Lydia Alys. And I've always been a fan of Menna (be it the Welsh or the Frisian name).
Mabli, Gwilym and Caio are intriguing as well. Thanks for sharing!

Alys is both, afaik - it works as a 'Wenglish' version of Alys and it's one of umpteen medieval English spellings used before standardisation.
I didn't know Menna was a Frisian name - I wonder if they're connected somehow. Looking at the birth records of Mennas here, there's a couple amidst all the Welsh Mennas who could be Frisian - one with 'Mistje' as a middle name and one with a very Dutch-sounding last name.

Trystan Pierre's whole family is kind of cool.Hmm...Gwennan / Gwenan is interesting. Female or unisex? And how do you pronounce Tegid and Eilir?I love Welsh names.
I just can't figure out how to pronounce anything without asking. *face palm*

Ask away, foreign names aren't obvious! - and it's always really nice that people are interested.Gwen(n)an (f) - apparently from gwen + nant, 'white stream'
Tegid (m) - TEH gid - probably from teg, 'fair', 'beautiful', but given that this one's in N Wales he was probably named for Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake), our biggest lake
Eilir (m & f, but mostly m) - AY leer, ay to rhyme with hey - it's an old word for butterfly & the only one I've ever met is male.

I like all of those, especially Tegid. Thanks. :)

Cadi Lois is so pretty! And I love the sibset of Twn and Mabli. What's Mabli if I may ask? Is it a form of Mabel? Trystan Pierre is very grand, lovely imagery.

My Welsh friend's kitten started out as Mabli - when the vet pointed out that Mabli is a "he" the name had to be changed to Mabon
