I would say that real human names are most common for cats and dogs, but the names tend to be rather short (often two syllables) and often "cute", at least for cats. Names that are usually nicknames -or started as nicknames - for people are common, like Nisse, Pelle, Maja, etc.Most popular for dogs in Sweden
