The description you gave are somewhat oddly specific. Do you have a personal vendetta or do you know people with these names?Arthur- nice masculine name with an interesting mythology. The only person I have ever actually met with this name was a middle-aged music teacher. He taught guitar, violin, drums, and trumpet. He was a tad on the chatty side but laid back and a really nice guy.
Alexander- rather handsome sounding, but pretty common. Alex is a pretty unisex nick name.
Adrian- this name does come across as somewhat weak. I can kind of see where you are coming from.
Elijah- Elijah is a really old Hebrew name. Eli sounds too nick namey but both are names in their own right.
Benedict- Does anyone actually just name their kid Ben? Usually, Ben is short something.
Christian- This name has been around way longer than 50 Shades and will still be around when Mr. Grey fades into a distant sleazy memory.
Demetrius- Interesting name, and I love the nick name Demetri.
Darius- *Shrugs*
Fabian (always wears scarves even when its warm)- Okay, this one I have to agree. Maybe its the fabulous connection.
Randolph (the ph ruins it)- And Randolf is so much better how? Either way the poor kid had to endure "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer."
August- unisex name that seems kind of sweet.
Nathaniel, Archibald, Julian , Robin - Archibald is a curse of a name in its teasing potential. Julian does seem a little upper crust. Nathaniel and Robin are favorites of mine and sadly I will probably never be able to leave a trust fund.
John Mark- There isn't a hyphen, so he can always go by John if he doesn't like the character John Mark in the Bible.
Cassius- Say what exactly?
Edmund, Edwin- They were named something other than Edward. What's the problem?
Fletcher- Normal, slightly boring occupation type name. Its in their with Sawyer, Thatcher, Archer, etc...
Wilfred, Wilbur, Wilson- not my favorites but not particularly mean sounding.

I kind of agree with Wilfred, Arthur and Fletcher.I disagree without Adrian, Nathaniel, Christian, & Elijah.Adrian - I’ve only know nice Adrian’s.
Nathaniel - comes across as a sweet guy to me.
Christian - One of my favourite names. I don’t think atheists would like this name. It seems pretty disliked on this board. I think it’s a great name.
Elijah - not a fave of mine, but I’ve know quite a few Elijah’s and Eli’s, and I can’t say I’ve come across mean one yet.:)

I agree about Archibald and Fletcher... maybe Demetrius too.

I agree with Demetrius, Darius, Fletcher and can see why you’d mention Cassius. On the other hand, I’ve always seen Arthur as a warm, sweet name and Christian doesn’t strike me as douchey at all. Julian, Robin, Elijah and Adrian also give me the opposite-of-douche vibes. But your post did make me chuckle, lol.

Arthur (eye roll): Disagree
Alexander (daddy's little man, huh): Agree
Adrian (tries to be above it all, really isn't.): Disagree, this is actually one of my favorite names
Elijah (thinks he's better than Eli): Disagree
Benedict (Cos he hates being called Ben): Makes me think of a regency romance book hero
Christian (looking at you, Mr Grey): Agree
Demetrius (4 syllables of d bag): Agree, D-names seem to be popular for romance book alpha males, Demetrius, Damon, Damien, Dante etc.
Darius (conqueror of what?): Makes me think of an old man
Fabian (always wears scarves even when its warm): I actually know a Fabian who does exactly that...
Randolph (the ph ruins it): Makes me think of an old man
August (grr): Actually really like this one, though I prefer the female version Augusta
Nathaniel, Archibald, Julian , Robin (trust fund much?): Agree for Nathaniel and Archibald, disagree for Julian and Robin
John Mark (had to make it a double thing): I'm neutral about this, not a fan of the combination but each name separately is fine for me
Cassius (do I need to say it): Depends on how people pronounce it. Kas-see-us = sounds classy but he probably has pretentious parents. Cash-us = major D-bag, along the lines of Chad.

The Demetrius Alpha male thing, I agree. I wanted to put in Dominic, but Dominic sounds a bit too sweet, nice guy to be truly alpha male.

I actually don't think many of these are douchey. Both Nathaniels I knew (one from Brazil, the other from Australia) were actually really nice. All of the Fabians I knew were pretty nice too, and I don't recall any of them wearing scarves when it was warm. (Most of them were from Argentina or other Latin American countries, which tend to get hot a lot, although I did know a Fabian from Germany.) I know a few Wilsons and all but one of them are nice.I know Christian isn't popular on this board since most users here are atheist/agnostic (and also because of the character from Fifty Shades of Grey), but I haven't had a problem with any of the guys I knew with the name. (Cristiano is a lot more common in Brazil, and I know both nice and mean Cristianos. The funny thing is, none of the mean Cristianos I knew were particularly religious.)I actually think Darius is kinda douchey, since a variant of it, Daryush, is the real name of Roosh V (if you haven't heard of him, look it up - he's a disgusting person). Dario doesn't give me the same vibe since I've known plenty (both nice and mean).

Have to say I don't get this vibe from any of those. Arthur, Alexander, Nathaniel, and the various Wil- names strike me as particularly mundane.

Arthur - hmm, could go either way; mainly I get a prep school vibe from it
Alexander - so common that it doesn't have a distinct personality to me, so I'd disagree
Adrian - maybe...I think I get that impression because it's a unisex name, which I feel horrible saying
Elijah - not really; Eli actually sounds more preppy to me, because I connect it with Elliot
Benedict - probably not...maybe if he dislikes Ben, he goes by Ned?
Christian - ugh
Demetrius - it does sound kind of like a vampire, but whatever, I like it
Darius - yeah, sure; I don't dislike it, but he sounds like a playa to me
Fabian - haha, I don't think wearing scarves would qualify someone as a Do*che Bag, so no
Randolph - sure, although it's a GP of mine, and I wouldn't say it's the 'ph' that does it; reminds me of Radcliff and Adolph, unfortunately
August - eh, maybe; I dislike it either way
Nathaniel, Archibald, Julian, Robin - sure, but at least they're not boring (Nathaniel being the possible exception, but I like the sound of that, anyway)
John Mark - not sure, just too emphatically New Testament for my liking
Cassius - nah, although I don't like the meaning
Edmund, Edwin - nah, they seem friendly to me
Fletcher - sure, I'd probably include all occupational names
Wilfred, Wilbur, Wilson - they just sound kind of like momma's boys to me

i LOST it laughing "daddy's little man". ftr, i like the name Alexander a lot (though a lot of its nicknames and variants are jerk names to me :/ ). "trust fund much" and "four syllables of D bag" is also worth mentioning, lmao. i wish Demetri got more consideration than Demetrius, it's infinitely better. Elijah would be a favorite name of mine if not for it being the name of a kid who bullied me through middle school.Christian is detestable to me, not just because of Mr Grey (though that's quite a factor). it reminds me in general of the many rude, violent men i've met named that who definitely don't act Christian.i support Fabian wearing scarves when it's warm, because he's fashionable. i love Ed/Eddie names (especially Edward/Eduard) because of a fictional character i like. Benedict is awful to me because of Benedict Cumberbatch. and August and Adrian are very sweet sounding names to me.

I imagine a Fabian being a bit of all weather scarf wearer as well but I don't know if I envision a "douchebag", more of a hipster or a fashionable person. Christian has always been a bit of a rich snob or super devout Christian. Benedict and Archibald as much as I actually like them they do come off especially stuffed shirt man who is probably wealthy. The rest of these I completely disagree with, actually many are favorites of mine. Lol!The other day when my husband and I had a frank discussion about many of my favorite names he said that he felt that all of the English ones are a bit too bland and upper middle class. Then said he loved a bunch of names that were all Anglicized Irish names or Welsh/ Arthurian names which are also very trendy and upper middle class. Which I pointed out to him. :P
