Cecilia vs. Cecily
Which do you prefer, and why? What would you use as a middle name? **After supposedly dying on January 30, 2007 after eating tainted pancakes, she returned several times as an angel and was revealed to be alive on May 17, 2011. )**

Cecilia, as it's one of my favorite names. The meaning, "blind," isn't a bad one. Especially if you think about it. The saint was also an amazing woman.Cecily I don't like. I don't know why, I just don't like it. It seems...prissy.

I like both but prefer Cecilia. It feel more complete and romantic.

Cecilia. Cecily is okay I suppose, but Cecilia just feels more beautiful, and elegant. I would use Cecilia as a middle name. Maybe Yvette Cecilia, Beatrix Cecilia, Jane Cecilia or something.

CeciliaBut only slightly. It feels more refined and international. I'm feeling Cecilia Juniper today.

Cecily, definitely. It's so happy sounding. :0)Cecilia is a bit snooty.

Cecilia is longer and more complicated, and less English, than Cecily. And the unfortunate tendency to spell it Cecelia curdles my blood. I love the Simon and Garfunkel song, but I love Cecily more; and then there's The Importance of Being Ernest.Since my parents were Beatrice and Cecil, I'd want to use Cecily Beatrice Anne. A name I'd have been happy to have myself.

Cecily Beatrice Anne is a wonderful combination. You have great names to work with. :0)

I prefer Cecily, I think it has an antique charm to it and it makes me think of rose gardens and the English countryside. My partner prefers Cecilia which I do also like, and hates Cecily, so in real life I would be more likely to use Cecilia.

Definitely Cecilia.Cecilia is beautiful and powerful. Cecily is plain and boring, maybe even a little nerdy.Maybe something to bring Cecilia down to earth a little bit for a middle name.Cecilia
