Elizabeth or Isabella?
Isabella is on my faves list and I've started to really love the name Elizabeth (nn Lizzie) after reading Pride and Prejudice. So, here are my questions:1) wdyt of each name?2) which do you prefer? as they're the same versions of each other.3) do you think Elizabeth would clash with the name Elena? (which I really want to use one day)thanks everyone! :)

Elizabeth is lovely, classic, and feminine...a great name, though I much prefer the sp. Elisabeth (which is one of my top 3 names at the moment).Isabella is very pretty, though popular right now. It's another feminine name that is classy and will age well.If I had to choose, I'd definitely go for Elisabeth (with this sp.)...hands down. I don't think you could go wrong, though. Elizabeth is a little close to Elena, since they both start with "el".

1) I find both a little boring. Elizabeth is nice, but it's been the name of what, 10 million women in the last thousand years? Boring. And Isabella has just totally worn out its welcome with me with its surge in popularity the last 10 years. I think it's going to crash and burn and won't stay nearly as high on the charts as it is now. Before 1990 it was way down below #900, in just 15 years it went to #6. As styles change I predict it will drop WAY down again. It will date very badly.2) Elizabeth. Classic trumps trendy.3) No, it's fine.

1) wdyt of each name? - I think they're both excessively overused. But Isabella is more trendy at the moment while Elizabeth is more of a long-standing classic. 2) which do you prefer? as they're the same versions of each other. - I prefer Elizabeth to Isabella but I prefer Isabel to both. 3) do you think Elizabeth would clash with the name Elena? (which I really want to use one day) - I wouldn't use both as fn's in a sister set, as they are too similar.

I hate Isabella (I really just hate all -ella names), Elizabeth is kind of plain, but I'll take it over Isabella. ~~Kris~~

Split the difference: ElisabellaSeriously, I'm not being facetious. This is one of my favorite names. I like Elizabeth okay, though I prefer it spelled with an S; it is classic, but overused, imo. Isabella is spiking in popularity, which does put me off a bit. This "compromise" name has the best of both without being either overused or too popular (to say the least, eh? ;p ).I don't think any of these three would be wrong to use in a sibset with Elena (another of my favorites).~Lillian~

IsabellaIsabella has only become popular in the last five years... Elizabeth has been around forever. I'm going to have to say Isabella (not only is it my favourite name) but it's not near as popular as Elizabeth is. Elizabeth and Elena clash I'm not fond of sibsets whom have the name beginning with the same letter. Isabella and Elena sounds a lot better.Top Names:Isabella, Anastasia, Elizabeth, Scarlett, Arabella, Xenia, Alessandra, Annabelle, Gabriella, Aurora, Arielle, Serena, Sophia, Esmeralda, Alexandra, Ivanka, Rose.

Isabella and Elizabeth are both beautiful, traditional names which will age well. I personally prefer Elizabeth. The name just appeal to me a little more than Isabella and also, I loved the character Elizabeth from Pride and Prejudice too!I don't think Elizabeth clashes with Elena, I think they're both very pretty and well, they start with "El" but I still think it would make a good sibset.

I prefer Isabella...Elizabeth is so common and harsh. Isabella is popular but like Elizabeth it is a historical and timeless name. It is much prettier IMO.Also I think Elena and Elizabeth are too close. Elena and Isabella sound better to me
