Of the
Royal House of Covedale, of the kingdom of Bellemar
The past two years have been full of both sadness and happiness for the Covedales. First,
William,
Cecilia's fiance, went to inform his parents of his engagement to the princess, but found that his younger sister was missing. The wedding had to be postponed to seek her out, and when they found her, to quickly marry her to the young man she had run away with to preserve the family honor so that
William would still be considered a suitable match for a princess.
At the same time,
Juliana and
August were trying to start their family and were having a great amount of difficulty. At first,
Juliana and
August simply enjoyed the effort of trying to get pregnant and were exceedingly happy in their marriage. As the months wore on and no telltale signs emerged,
Juliana began to sink into depression, terribly fearful that she would never be a mother. She kept quiet about her troubles, knowing that
Cecilia, her usual confidante, was having a hard time, and that
Robert and
Isolda had the opposite problem.
Juliana and
Eleanor have never really been close, so
Juliana began to confide her troubles in her older sister,
Helena, her mother, and her father's mistress.
Helena found herself pregnant again amidst
Juliana's troubles and kept quiet about her expectations until, happily,
Juliana began throwing up every morning like clockwork and announced her pregnancy to the royal family.
Cecilia began to feel a little better with two of his sisters pregnant, and even happier when her twin and his wife announced that unexpected little
Avila would be an older sister. Until tragedy struck.
Prince Nicholas, now a strapping young thirteen boy, was riding with his brother and brothers-in-law when a feral wolf attacked the young prince's horse and the prince himself.
Cornelius,
Hartwin,
August, and
Robert all rushed to their younger brother's aid.
Hartwin killed the wolf, and
August rode ahead to alert the physicians, while
Cornelius and
Robert tried to tend to the bloodied and broken
Nicholas. For nearly a week,
Nicholas teetered on the edge of death, his legs broken and bite marks and cuts covering his body. When he finally came around and began to heal, the whole family rejoiced, even though the young teenager was now scarred and his left leg slightly twisted.
Nicholas would now never be the handsome young man he had been destined to be, but the whole family realized how much they cherished sweet, diplomatic, and friendly
Nicholas and that scars didn't change the fact that
Nicholas was still a lovely boy. All three new babies in the family were named to honor their uncle, and
Nicholas was the best man at
Cecilia and
William's wedding.
Though relations with Rewa have been better than ever thanks to
Prince Hartwin and
Princess Eleanor's marriage and their two healthy happy children, the
King of Dewyn has discovered that his daughter,
Princess Isolda, had been pregnant before her marriage to
Prince Robert and is livid. Instead of attacking the prince personally, however, the
King is demanding much more favorable trade agreements with Bellemar without stating his grievance with his son-in-law. The sudden change of heart has
Kieran baffled but
Elisabeth and
Rosemary suspect what has happened, and have urged
Isolda to avoid visiting her homeland for the moment, afraid of what the
King may do to his daughter should they meet in person.
