[Opinions] Meredith
Meredith is the current choice of name for my friends' daughter (due in Jan), and they're trying to come up with a middle name. Can anyone think of some nice combos with Meredith? Also, does anyone actually know any Merediths, and do they go by nicknames? My friends would prefer her to be Meredith and not a shortened version.

I have an online friend named Meredith. As far as nicknames, I don't think she goes by any.

One of my bf is named Meredith Ann. EVERYONE calls her Merv (like Merv Griffin). Something her dad started when she was a little tike and it stuck. I wouldn't want to be called Merv. I like Meredith.Good combos are:Meredith Lauren
Meredith Eden
Meredith Elise
Meredith Elaina
Meredith Cathryn
Meredith Ava
Meredith BethanySo many good combos with Meredith.... I could go on and on but won't because I don't know your friends' naming style and don't have a lot of time. Blessings!

I love the name Meredith, which is weird because it doesn't really fit with my usual naming style. I don't know anyone with the name, but I guess it could be shortened to Merry / Merrie - I prefer the full name though.

The only Meredith I know is a four-year-old, who goes by Meredith but sometimes just writes "MERE" when she signs her name.Meredith Anne
Meredith Fleur
Meredith Lily
Meredith Wren
Meredith Opal
Meredith Jane
Meredith Aster
Meredith Orchid
Meredith Pansy
Meredith Violet
Meredith Amaryllis
Meredith Columbine
Meredith Larkspur
Meredith CrocusI think it needs a short, simple, unusual/not overly common flower name for a mn. Not sure if any of these are the right one; I can't seem to think of many uncommon ones that aren't long.

As far as I know, the Merediths I've met have all gone by Meredith. I have heard of Mary as a nickname for Meredith, but I didn't actually know the person. Mary doesn't make much sense to me as a nickname for Meredith because the beginnings of Mary and Meredith are oftentimes pronounced differently depending on people's accents, and Mary is very common as a full name. Merry and Meri make a lot more sense as nicknames for Meredith.Meredith combos:
Meredith Veronica
Meredith Rachel
Meredith Cassandra
Meredith Rebecca
Meredith Grace - Grace is very common as a MN, but it sounds nice with Meredith.
Meredith Abigail
Meredith Annabel / Annabelle
Meredith Charlotte
Meredith Emily
Meredith Natalie
Meredith Natasha
Meredith Jane
Meredith Jean / Jeanne
Meredith Kate
Meredith Gabrielle

Meredith LouiseI'm not very good at combos, but I think these are OK.I have never known a Meredith, but I really like it. I think if she always gives the name Meredith, and not a nn, most people will follow suit and call her Meredith.

I really like Meredith. It's one of the few originally masculine names that I prefer on a girl. My favorite combo is Meredith Fiona.I don't think I've ever met any Merediths in real life, actually. There is of course Meredith Viera from the Today Show who doesn't go by a nickname, at least professionally.
