I'm finding a new growing love of Maria, I've loved Mary for awhile but was never a huge fan of it's variations (I like some, just not many). Maria has just been growing on me recently, I love it with French names either as a first or middle name.
So what are your opinions of Maria? What's your favorite Mary name (if any)? Combo suggestions? I don't like Marie at all. I can respect it, but it's my grandmother's name, which for some people would be a good thing, but my family's relationship with my grandmother is... not great. I wouldn't want to name my daughter after her at all.

I don't like Marie very much either. It's the kind of name most people put on a dump cart for middle names, along with Renee.
I love Mary, and I like Maria, if used as a German name.
Out of your combos, I only like Maria Catherine.
Personally I think that when people use Maria, they should go for a German combo (unless of course they're Hispanic or Italian). My favorite combos are...

Maria Magdalena (this is the one I would use)

But Maria is a variation used in many many more languages than those three. I don't like German names much, I think of Latin when I think of Maria actually. Part of what I like Maria is that it can be quite universal.
I like:

I think Maria is a decent, classic name; not one of my favourites, though.
