Adelaide
I have a few questions, if anyone is feeling nice enough to answer them. :)My boyfriend and I were talking about names (I bring them up on occassion.I asked about the name Adelle. He said, what about Adelaide?I like Adelaide. So, my questions are.1) What are your opinions of Adelaide?2) Is Adelaide Sophia a good combo? If not, any other combo ideas?3) Is Adele/Adelle an okay nick name? Can you think of any others.4) Does it go well with William Nathaniel? Thanks so much!

I adore Adelaide- it's my second favourite girls name :)Adelaide Sophia is a lovely combo. My current combo is Adelaide Laurel Aviva, but thats subject to change at any moment ;) Other ideas:
Adelaide Catherine
Adelaide Lucy
Adelaide Nora
Adelaide Lilac
Adelaide Hazel
Adelaide Carys
Adelaide Samara
Adelaide Lillian
Adelaide JemimaI think Adelle is fine as a nn- I'd prefer Della, Addie, or Laidey though, and plan to use all 3 if I ever get to have an Adelaide, with Della being the main nn.Sounds fine with William.Great name.

1. Love the name. We used it as a middle name of our newborn.
2. Adelaide Sophia is a fine combo
3. We aren't confronted with nickname choices but lean toward Heidi (based on the original German name Adelheid/Adelheidis)
4. They go together almost too well. Did you know England's Queen Adelaide was married to William IV?

1) I like it a lot, but then, I pretty much like anything in the Adelle family grouping of names. :)2) Yes. Love it!3) I think it would work well as a NN. Ada, Dell, Della, or Addy (if it's your thing, though I'm inclined to think not) would also work.4) Yes, and that's a handsome combo, by the way.

1) What are your opinions of Adelaide?
Being the mother of a little Adelaide, I would say I'm quite fond of it. :) Not that I'm biased at all.2) Is Adelaide Sophia a good combo? If not, any other combo ideas?
I love Sophia, but its popularity scares me away. In the middle name spot it works really well, though. Adelaide Sophia flows nicely.3) Is Adele/Adelle an okay nick name? Can you think of any others.
I think Adele/Adelle is a fine nn for Adelaide. As for others there is always Ada, Addie, Adda, Dell, Della, Lady.4) Does it go well with William Nathaniel?
Yes, very well.

I love Ada. Thanks for the heads up on that. Since you have an Adelaide, just out of curiousity, what middle name and nicknames do you use. Will not steal the middle name, I promise. ;)

My little Adelaide is Adelaide Hope(which was not meant as a virtue name, it in fact was my maiden name). We call her Adda. The added d is because we pronounce it Add-a(just like the first part of her name) not Ay-da. Oddly, before she was born we had intended her nn to be Della. She is often called Ladybug, too.
