Opinions on Ada, and ideas for full name?
SO is stuck on the name Ada lately. I like it, but don't love it. I would love a full name that can use Ada as the nickname (not Adelaida, please) because I don't like how short it is. What do you think of Ada?
Any suggestions for a full name?
What middle name would you pair with Ada?

I don't like Ada much, it sounds cold and clinical, I much prefer the warmer Ava.But full names for Ada... Adaline, Adela, Aleida, Adelia, Adelita, Adabelle, Adaya, Adalee -- but I suppose it depends how you pronounce these as to whether it'd be easy to get Ada (AY-da) from them.Middles for Ada...
Ada Guinevere
Ada Georgina
Ada Alexandra
Ada Matilda
Ada Natasha
Ada Margot
Ada Elizabeth
Ada Henrietta
Ada Willow
Ada Victoria
Ada Summer
Ada Eleanor
Ada Edith
Ada Penelope
Ada Isis:)

I adore the name Ada, it was actually on our list had this baby been a girl. I actually prefer it as a full name tbh, it is a name in it's own right, not just a nn so I don't see a problem. That said, if i had to choose a longer name then it would be Adelaide. My fave Ada combo is Ada Florence, which is a family name for me and I adore it. I also love Ada Miriam, Ada Violet, Ada Felicity, Ada Jane, Ada Katherine, Ada Lillian, Ada Lucy, Ada Elizabeth, Ada Estelle, Ada Willow, Ada Ruby, Ada Rosemary, Ada Rosalie, Ada Isabelle, Ada Imogen, Ada Iris, Ada Phoebe, Ada Pearl, Ada Poppy and Ada Posy.

I love Ada. But, I like it in its short and sweet form. The problem is that you have to pair it with the right middle name or its just sound too abrupt. It can be short for:Adeline / Adelina
Adele
Adabel
Adelaide
Adrianna / Adrienne ?
Isadora ?I would pair it as so:Ada Josephine
Ada Coraline / Caroline
Ada Lillian
Ada Margot
Ada Catherine
Ada Celeste
Ada Fern
Ada Isabel
Ada Lenore
Ada Pearl
Ada Rosamund

Why don't you like Adelaida? Are you afraid people will start calling her a 'pretty little Cajun queen'? (it's a George Strait song, for those who aren't familiar with it) Other than forms of Adelaide, I like kinda like Aderyn.

I'm not familiar with that song. I love Adelaide, Adelaida, and Adele but my SO said absolutely not to those. It's a battle to find names we both like. I used to love Aderyn, I don't know how it slipped my mind!

Well...
There's Adelaide, which is nearly Adelaida but much nicer (if you don't mind that it's a city in Australia.)Maybe also:
Adele (which I really love)
Adeline
Addison (don't like this at all, but maybe you will)
Adrienne (and all it's variant spellings...)And that's all I can think of.

I love Adele as well, but no luck convincing SO. I didn't think of Adeline. I kind of like the sound of it!

My cousin just used thisAda Dawn. I also just came across an Adalaid. I love Ada, although I prefer Adah. It's cute and simple..Adalynn is incredibly trashy. Don't use it.

I don't like Adalynn. It looks too made up for my liking! I'm glad to hear that Ada was recently used!

Not Adelaida because it's too short? Typo? Or what? Because you wwon't find many ada-related names any longer than Adelaida.I don't like Ada, it's frumpy and dull. Adalynn?

Sorry, I meant that I don't like Ada because it is so short. I'd like suggestions for longer names like Adelaida that I can use Ada as a nickname for. I was typing in a hurry and didn't proofread!
