When Mira and Arthur married, no one thought it would be over a year before they were pregnant. Mira and Arthur weren't worried about having children right away; both thought it would happen when it was meant to happen, and no need to rush things. They went to Gabe and Delia's wedding, as lavish and beautiful as their own, and served the happy couple with teasing about how they could be old married couples together. It wasn't long after that wedding that Mira and Delia both discovered they were pregnant. At once Mira and Gabe started up a friendly bickering about who would have the first grandchild, who would get to use what names of their parents, and whose baby would be the prettiest. Their siblings, led by Gwen, took bets on which would be born first, the sexes of the babies, what days and how far apart they would be born--all purely friendly, they assured their parents. Rosa and Thaddeus, excited and expectant, decided to let them have their fun, while Mira, Gabe, Arthur, and Delia were all rather amused by it.
Most bets were settled when Mira delivered a healthy, beautiful baby girl first. Delia and Gabe forgot to be disappointed in their delight over their niece. The baby was christened Anna, Mira's favorite name since childhood, Rosa Katarina after the queen, and Nicole after Arthur's mother. Everyone is already sure she is keeping Mira's blue eyes, though they are unsure about what color her hair will be--what hair she has is dark reddish brown. Everyone is entranced by her, even little Viva, who is thrilled at being an aunt though she is still so young herself.
Only two weeks after little Anna's birth, Delia went into labor, delivering an equally healthy and precious baby boy. Mira just being able to walk around comfortably was able to come see the baby with the rest of the family,and she brought Anna along to see him too. Delia and Gabe christened him Jeremy for a friend of Gabe's who died when he was a child, Alexander for the queen and their late grandfather, William because both simply like it, and Thaddeus after the king. Lily was the first to call him Jem, which is what everyone now calls him. He is a round and darling baby, looking more like Delia than Gabe.
Rosa and Thaddeus are both thrilled with their new grandchildren and held a grand festival to celebrate their christening (both were christened together). The people of the kingdom are of course glad that the royal line continues, and celebrated the births with usual Tayelan zeal.
