[Opinions] Lily or Lyra (more)
Which one would you choose? They would be my two top choices but I'm not sure if I like them in a sibset.Lily or Lyra (LY-ra)?And do you think they'd work for sisters?I don't think they are too similar necessarily but they are not great together either because of the same number of syllables and them both starting with an L.If I'd use them I was thinking about Lily and Lyra Elinor May.Can you think of good names to pair with Lily (two middle names)? Elsa is a family name I'd like to use but I can't really find a good combo. Lily Elsa Annabel maybe? Elsa is hard to pair in the middle...

I would pick Lyra. Lily is too boring for me. I think they are too close for a sib set.

I like Lily Elsa Annabel, don't like sibling Lyra

Lyra! It's "deeper", basically. Lily is pretty, it's a sweet/cute flower, and it's very light and airy (and light colored). Lyra is musical, a little mysterious/magical, and more of a dark blue. Lily is spring and daylight, Lyra is winter and night. Both are "light" but Lily is like sunlight and Lyra is like something glowing at night. I think they're too matchy for sisters. I like Lyra and Elinor together, but I think May goes better with Lily. Lily Elsa May?Lily Elsa Jane
Lily Elsa Perrine (I thought of this before realizing it was your posting name but hey, it works)
Lily Elsa Guinevere
Lily Elsa Annette
Lily Elsa Annesse
Lily Elsa Miranda (I like Miranda better with Lyra though. Lyra Elinor Miranda?)
Lily Elsa Anne
Lily Elsa Madeleine
Lily Elsa Seraphine
Lily Elsa Hermione

Maybe make Elsa a first and Lyra the middle, then you wouldn't have any matching issues and Elsa & Lily is super cute. That said I don't think Lily & Lyra is too matchy to use, might just get a bit of tongue twister on a busy school morning haha

I prefer Lily. Lyra is too harsh sounding to me. I find them a bit close for sisters but I've heard closer IRL. What about Lily Elsa Margo?

I'd pick Lily over Lyra. I think it's much prettier. I don't love them as a sibset. I think they're too close, but they're not stupidly close like Missy and Lissy or anything, so it's not a huge deal. Lily Elsa Annabel is beautiful. For a while, I was big on the combo Lily Susannah, but I'm obsessed with Susannah. :D Lily Elsa Genevieve
Lily Elsa Juliet
Lily Elsa RosalindLily Annabel Jane
Lily Juliana Elise
Lily Claudia Maeve
Lily Seraphina Loveday (still thinking about the combo Lucy Loveday that was posted days ago. So good. So so good.)

LyraI love Lyra. Lily and Lyra as a sibset is just too much, too flowery and similar. I think if you want to use Elsa with another middle name for Lily you need something one syllable. Lily Elsa Mae
Lily Elsa Sloane
Lily Elsa Kay
Lily Elsa Rae
Lily Elsa Lynn
Lily Elsa Blaire
Lily Elsa Ash

LyraLily is pretentious and overused IMO. I don't mind the two names together.

Lyra, Lily is childish and inconsistent. I think they’re too close for sisters.

If I had a gun to my head......LyraI really dislike both, though. Lily sounds treacly to me; Lyra sounds strident. I'd ultimately opt for Lyra because it's fresher than Lily. They don't work as sisters for me -- the names feel quite different. As for combinations, I'd consider Lily Winifred Elsa, Lily Cosima Elsa, Lily Agatha Elsa, or maybe Lily Rosamund Elsa.

LyraLily is trendy and bland and a bit too delicate for me.Lyra and Lily are a bit too matchy-matchy, but they could work as sisters. Lyra Elinor May is nice (though I dislike that spelling of Eleanor).I think Lily Annabel Elsa is nice.

LyraLily is insipid. Lyra is far more interesting, even a little spunky. I wouldn’t use them together in a sibset.

Lily
I think they are too similar for siblings.
I'm not able to think of a good combo for Lily using Elsa, but I think it should be a more consonant heavy name and in the middle.

I quite like them both but as a sibset they definitely feel too matchy to me. Both start with L, both have the same number of syllables, the same number of letters, a very similar kind of flow, -ly somewhere in them, though it's pronounced differently, and Lyra has an r, and I feel like if I was to say "Lily, Lyra" a lot of the time it could get mixed up, probably not on the brain level but on the tongue level for sure. :D I'm also not sure if Lily and Elsa make for the good combo. They are both so soft and have the same amount of syllables as well as a lot of l's in quite close proximity, also what would slightly bother me personally is that essentially they're variants of the same name since Lily evolved from Elizabeth as well. I think the only way it could work is if you put Elsa at the end, and the other middle name in the middle. I'd also look for something longer, with a slightly less liquid vibe and ending wit a consonant. I had a hard time coming up with concrete combos though and couldn't think of anything that would feel convincing. One thing that's heavily on my mind when I think of Lily and Elsa together is the Swedish name Elsalill, which means "little Elsa". I'm not sure though how well it would work for you and generally in the Anglophone world, perhaps if you like it and have some Scandinavian ancestry it could be an option...
