Help[Opinions] Thane and Thalia
I’ve become absolutely enamored with this pair. If I had a son and daughter today they’d be Thane Matias and Thalia Charlotte. Normally I wouldn’t like a double letter, but I like too many T names and make exceptions.
What would you name another son or another daughter for Thane and Thalia? I’m liking Freya and Tristan, Lilia and Kai / Kaj.

Also, if you don’t like these names, could you explain why in a sensible, kind way rather than an inflammatory one? I don’t have any enemies in real life and hardly see the need for imaginary ones here.

I don’t like Thane because I see it as a title, and more than that it reminds me of names like Chad, Thad / Thaddeus, & Troy — ultra masculine “macho” names. Thalia has just never really been my thing. I do think the combos are nice, though.
Henry & Lily come to mind, though their a little basic compared to Thane & Thalia. Also Rowan, Silas, Stefan, Antonia, Tabitha, Naomi, Lydia, Helena & Althea.

If I had a Thane and a Thalia, and I were determined to have alliteration, another son would be Theo or Thor. A daughter would be Thea, I guess; I don't like any other Th- girls name that much.
Thane as a name sits oddly with me. I like the sound, and it's a namey sound, like Shane. But I do get a MacBeth association when I look at it, and probably because it's not a common word, I keep feeling like someone's lisping when I hear it.
Thalia I love. My middle school science teacher was named Thalia, and she was great. It sounds airy to me, and I like the Greek Muse association.

I don't like either Thane or Thalia, and I'll try to explain why but if you decide to get hurt over it that's your problem and not mine. I don't think anybody really has to justify not liking the sound of a name any more than they should have to justify why they like strawberry but not blackberry, but here goes.

Thalia is the name of the town in Larry McMurtry's Last Picture Show series of novels, which I very much enjoyed. Apparently there is an actual town in Texas called Thalia but it's not the one he used in his books. So it does have some significance to me as a place name, but the sound is not nice enough for a person's name.

Thalia's incontrovertibly pretty, but I don't love it. It feels a bit too prissy, maybe even tawdry...? I would still be delighted to meet one in real life.
As I said the other day, I hate Thane because it sounds like more of a title than a name, and that nasal "ay" is quite repellent to me. I do prefer it to Shane and Dane and Zane because "th" is one of my favorite consonant clusters.

Sometimes a dislike doesn't really have explanation it just is. Do you request the same of describing a liking as well? This is an opinions board after all.
I don't particularly like Thane as it feels a bit blunt in sound and it doesn't really drawl the same appeal to me as some of the other shorter male names, Thaddeus is more my speed. Thalia is kind of cute but I especially like it as a NN for Nathalia as shorter NNs for longer names are kind of my thing. But it's still nice as it is. I am a fan of Charlotte as a girls middle name myself I play with it in combos all the time. Matias is fine but I don't love it, Matthias is more my speed since I grew up very religious and this is the biblical variant that I am more accustomed to.
I feel like Astrid, Elaina, Nola, Cleo, Athena or Ingrid would be fair game in such a set for a girl or Asher, Percy, Jonas, Lance, Melchior, or Eris for a boy
