[Opinions] Re: What Would you Name Twin Girls / Twin Boys From The "Funky Clunky" Name List? +
in reply to a message by Dianatiger
I agree, it depends on the name.
I don't think Theodora is funky nor clunky. It's a rather pretty name that sounds fashionable. Augusta on the other hand, that's clunky. But not funky. It's too classical to be funky. It's a little antique, but in good condition, has no funk on it.
a few names from the list that I would say are both funky and clunky (and I don't like them):
Myrtle, Walter, Hubert, Eustace, Thirza, Ethel, Beryl, Digby, Archibald, Boris, Horace, Winifred, Zelda, Opal, Patience, Rhoda, Temperance, Herman, Wilbert, Dorcas, Hester, Barbara, Lester, Clotilde, Blanche, Humphrey, Maud, Bernard, Wallace, Prudence, Cuthbert, Queenie
some that are both and I like them: Glynis, Delyth, Clarence, Ursula, Wilbur
funky not clunky names (definitely dated, yet chic) I like from the list:
Iva, Ida, Betty, Mavis, Sybil, Sally, Eileen, Peggy, Dora, Trevor, Leslie, Thora, Muriel, Gloria, Howard, Sylvester
clunky not funky (stylish despite lack of fashionable aesthetic) names I like from the list:
Marjorie, Wilhelmina, Malcolm, Ivor, Virgil, Valentine, Millicent, Rudolf, Harold, Gilbert, Priscilla, Dorothy, Vera, Gideon, Oswald, Rosemary
neither funky nor clunky (not ugly or awkward sounding, not dated in a bad way) and I like them
Marian, Terrence, Cyrus, Jacqueline, Rosetta, Sylvia, Gwendolyn, Theodora, Eudora, Isidora, Roy, Clark, Colin
OH eta I didn't answer the title question.
g/g - Mavis and Iva, Rosetta and Eudora
b/b - Virgil and Gilbert, Cyrus and Clark
