[Opinions] WDYT of Florence?
Old lady? Dated? Ready for revival?I haven't seriously thought of Florence, but it just popped into my head and I thought I'd see what you all thought. I'm liking the nn Flo.Florence Julia
Florence Maria
Florence Elaine

Florence is really gorgeous!
As for the nn Flo - I'm sorry, but it just reminds me of the saying
"Aunt Flo is coming for a visit!" That people use to refer to their periods. Not a great association.

I like Florence because it reminds me of the city in Italy. And flowers, of course. But yet I remember...Aunt Flo.

While I prefer the name Flora, Florence is nice too. It reminds me of an F. Scott FitzGerald character, for some reason. At least that's the era that comes to mind. Lovely. All of your combinations are nice, but Florence Julia is my favorite. May I try a few?Florence Evelyn
Florence Adele
Florence Vivien
Florence Rosalind
Florence Irene
Florence Isabelle
Florence Catherine

I love Florence Catherine (the C spelling is my absolute fave). I also have been enamored with Vivian lately, so I like Florence Vivien, too.Thanks.

not bad at allI don't think I'd ever use it, but it does hav e a pretty sound. Maybe due for a modest revival. Florence Elaine is nice, and Florence Maria, though I like Maria Florence better.I would NOT use Flo. I call my periods my Aunt Flo. lol

Florence is lovely, and I think both it and Flora deserve more young beareres! Flo doesn't do it for me, because you say "flow" and I think "menstrual," but I think Flossie, Fenna / Fennie, Flora, and Flor are all nice pet names.Florence Julia is pretty, as is Florence Maria (it sounds wonderfully old-fashioned to me), but Florence Elaine is difficult for me to say.Array

I really like Flora and Flor as nicknames...flo was just the first thing I thought of (and I was trying to get the post out before I had to start working again).:-)
