Mia: nice enough. It just seems like a nn to me, probably becasue the only Mia I have known it was a nn for Amelia. I only like it pronounced Mee-a. I think Mia Claire is nice. Out of those I choose Megan. It's more timeless than the other's I believe. I also like the meaning of "pearl".

I like it, but it's almost too simple sounding to be honest. Plus, most other short -ia names just seem ditzy to me (Kia, Tia, etc.), so even though I like Mia, it's not a huge favorite. From the list, I like Keira best (I prefer the Kira spelling, though). I also like Carys, but it seems too trendy at the moment imo. Emma and Megan are too overused for my taste. I really like the name Mia, and it even used to be my number one. I dislike how popular it has become though. My favorite combo at one time was Mia Angeline. It is a bit timeless. From your list my favorite would either be Mia or Keira.

I love Mia (pronounced MEE-ah). I like it both as a formal name and a nn for Maria.

I absolutely love the name Mia as a first name! It's on my current list of favorites. It sounds great on a little girl and an adult, I think it ages very well.

I don't like Mia at all. It's so short, and I don't find it pretty. My favorite of your names is either Keira or Emma. I like Keira because it sounds fresh and spirited to me, and I like Emma because I think it's such a pretty classic.

I love Mia as a first name and I think all of those names go very well together. The set has a very British feel, IMO, which is lovely. The only name that I dislike on your list is Megan.

I don't care for it. There's so many ways it could be pronounced (I've hear Mee-ah, My-ah, even May-ah, which I don't understand), and I find it to be to short and choppy sounding. If I had to choose a pronuncation, then I'd choose My-ah, I suppose. To choose a middle name, then I choose Mia Rose. From the list, Megan is the only name I like. It's more traditional and less trendy from the choices you've listed.

Mia is a GP for me; it almost sounds too nicknamey to stand on its own, and yet at the same time, it's cute. (I go back and forth on my opinion of the name all the time.) And I do not like it as a NN for Amelia because I can't stand the name Amelia. I think Mia needs to be a FN; I can't really see it as much of a MN, but that's jmo. Mia Charlotte, Mia Rose, & Mia Kathryn all make nice combos imo. As for the name being timeless, I'm not too sure; it might be a little too cutesy for someone older. As for your list, I definitely prefer Emma or Carys over Mia. They sound more complete imo. Keira & Megan are nmsaa.~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

IMO Mia is not good as a MN - it has to be FN. And I think combos like Mia Evelyn or Mia Rose will go well. Just don't choose those trendy and/or kree8if names as MN; it would ruin a lovely name like Mia. ^_^Of your list I like Emma and Megan, more than I do Mia. Emma really sounds elegant to me and will age better than Keira or Carys. And all the Megans I know are beautiful and/or graceful.Mom to Olivia and Aunt to Joseph, Michelle, Erica and Alex
