Re: Names you hate
Surnames as first names unless they are honouring relatives
Occupation surnames on girls doubly so - especially the very ugly Sawyer
Male-derived names on girls really irritate me - Madison Maddison Emerson AddisonCheryl and such tacky meaningless pap (the school sneak was Cheryl Marilyn - she was a snob to boot so it is rather ironic that she had such a downmarket name)Agatha (hag-like)
Agnes
Beatrice ("beat rice")
Bertha
Daisy - soppy, infantile
Emmeline - frumpy
Ena
Ethel
Euphemia
Freda
Hermione
Hilda
Huldah
Jennifer - so overused and I can't fathom why
Linda
Mallory - horrible meaning
Martha - plain and frumpy, awful sound
Noa - can't understand its popularity on here
Poppy
Sheila
Shelagh
Skyler
Sloane
Una and Oona/OonaghBradley
Brett ("brat")
Brian
Brock - was in "The Young and the Restless" - horrible soap name
Cricket ditto
Keith
Nigel
Silas
