Maybe hard to pull off in modern days but I'm getting very strong Atticus Finch vibes form this name, an Aloysius could fit in a dusty old town. I'll keep it in mind for future older characters, but that's my only thought of uses for it.
Ambrose Bierce (1842-1904) was an American writer, journalist, and soldier. He is also the main character of the biographical fiction book "The Old Gringo", by Carlos Fuentes.
I'm not fond of many country names (Chad is alright because it's also a separate name) and while this one is very pretty I wouldn't use it on a real person.
Amitai Marmorstein is an actor best known for his work on Supernatural, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, Sunflower Hour, Wayward Pines, among many others.
Andrew John Hozier-Byrne, commonly known as Hozier, is an Irish musician who rose to fame with his 2013 song "Take Me To Church". His music spans alt, blues-gospel, and Irish folk, with pop and rock elements.
I don't like it pronounced cash-us, cass-ee-us is much better. Cas is a good nickname better than cash. But pronounced cass-ee-us is very nice, I quite like it.
It could be because I am studying Irish but I have never read this as cat-hair. If anything I have only read it as cath-air. But it's pronounced ka-hir. If you're worried about people mispronouncing, you could use Cahir, which is the same name. Anyways, I really like this name and I think it's really nice. However Cathair means city in Irish so the fact that this doesn't mean city surprised me.
It's not a bad name, I personally wouldn't use it, but it does make me think of Star Trek. But I do love Jadzia Dax, and the other Dax hosts, so it's a great namesake, but you'd have to be into that sort of thing.
I don't think of it as a masculine name because of Dalila (and its variants) but I really like how it's pronounced! It took me a second to get it but I think most people would get used to it.
A good name, mo matter how you pronounce it, in my opinion. A nice contrast and a bit different than all the other 'eli' names, though those are also very good.
Enoch apparently walked with god (or perhaps he called god El) through a vineyard, grove, or garden and then was taken by god/El to heaven without dying.
I think it's not a bad name, but I'd prefer it on a fictional character or as a nickname. But I definitely wouldn't hate it as a given name, it's got personality and a nice sound too.
I really love this name, and while I've never been to San Francisco, I like the city enough. And Frank is actually a pretty good name, if they choose that instead.
Gabriel Dumont was a Métis leader and close friend of the famous Louis Riel. He was a very influential figure in war, politics, and hunting at the time, across much of the prairies.
I think it's a lovely name and I agree with Sam Gamgee that Galadriel is AMAZING but I wouldn't name anyone it. It's very long and fluttery and works best on Galadriel herself. I love Tolkien's names as well, I am named after the Rohan people, but I would use a different name that is still unique but not too wild, like Daeron or, while not a Tolkien name, I am quite fond of Meriadoc.
I know this name from Gideon's Bible. Aside from that, I think it's a good name, strong, works well with any age. Doesn't make me think of 'giddy' at all though.
I don't hate it. It's modern and all that but I can't particularly see it on an adult. It's not childish per se but I only can see it on people under 29. However I do really dislike Jaxson. I guess I'm not fond of Jackson and its variants anyway.
Norman Jeffrey "Jeff" Healey was a Canadian blues-rock guitarist. He was blind since he was three because he had cancer in his eyes. He had a very unique way of playing, with his guitar on his lap, much like a pedal steel guitar.
Jeffrey Scott "Jeff" Tweedy is an American singer-songwriter. He was in the alt-rock band Uncle Tupelo, and is in the band Wilco (too many genres to say). He was also in the rock band Golden Smog.
Honestly this is actually a good name and I really like it! I wouldn't expect it to be a variant of Eduardo, but nonetheless, a very nice, strong name.
I really like this name. I don't mind the Peanuts connotations, since Linus is my favourite of the group anyways. It's a cute name, and unique, but not too weird.
Luther Hargreeves is a character in the Netflix TV show 'The Umbrella Academy'. Luther is Number 1 of the Hargreeves children, and his power is strength.
Star Trek introduced me to this name and I must say I love it. It is better than Paul, and used much less. It's unique but easy to say. Maybe it's my love of the character, that's affecting my opinions on the name.
I think this is a lovely name and while I've only ever met one person with the name, I've never thought about how it could be read as Sarah even if they are anagrams.
Samuel Lount was a blacksmith and farmer who had served on the Legislative Assembly in Toronto before Sir Francis Bond Head's rigged election in 1837. He was a leader in the Rebellions of 1837 in Toronto.
I like Syd better, though I'm not a kreatyve person. It just looks better. It's an okay name though. I'm mostly neutral but it's not as bad as people in the comments below me say.
Woah this is a super cool name that I had no idea existed. It's fresh and modern without being trashy and still holding a classic feel. I like it more than Soan.
My friend's middle name is this, personally maybe not as a stand alone name, but for him I think his name flows really well. It'd be fine on any gender, in my opinion, but you just have to find the right names to go with it.
Makes me think of a cross between Sullivan and Solomon. I like it. It is unique (well, maybe not in Turkey. But where I am it is) and sounds classic. Would fit any age.
I love this name but that's because it's my brother's name. It fits him well and he is small and darker than the rest of us. But I think it'd be nice on many people. It has a lot of good nicknames, Sully, Sul (I call him Sal), Ivan (we never call him this).
Syd Barrett comes to mind, that's how I know this name, but it's not the worst association. He was kinda crazy but he was cool. I like this name better than Sid, because it looks better, but it's an okay name either way.
I really like this name as a full name. If I were to name someone perhaps I would go with Thomas for a legal name but I prefer Tommy as a name and I think it's cute. It's strong and masculine and very sweet.
I really love this name! I know a lovely guy named Valentine, and I think it's a great name with very interesting vibes to it. However, might be a rough name to grow up with, maybe.
I LOVE the name Wesley! It's so cute. And Wes is pretty cool too. Plus, Wesley Crusher is one of my favourite characters and I don't understand the hate for him.
Woodrow Wilson "Woody" Guthrie was an American folk guitarist and singer. He is considered to be one of the most important and influential people in music. His music was politically charged, and his guitar famously had the words "This machine kills fascists" painted on it.
