It's always seemed heavy to me; perhaps the Alcott association and those very clumsy 19th century clothes.I much prefer Louise. And I prefer Eloise even more - I know it's not the same but the sounds are close.

I don't hate it the way I hate Louise. I kind of like it. Just kind of. I guess the A at the end softens it enough.

I have a cousin named Louisa. I think it's a pretty good name, it's not too common but it doesn't stand out either. It seems very practical (it's not in any danger of people failing to take it seriously) but isn't super boring either. It just sounds like a sort of responsible adult name XD Some of these are more boring than I'd really like, but I think they all work to some extent:Louisa Nicole
Louisa Jane
Louisa Bethan
Louisa Wren
Louisa Violet
Louisa Elizabeth
Louisa Anne
Louisa Shannon
Louisa Jade
Louisa Morgan
Louisa Vivian
Louisa Dawn
Louisa Helen
Louisa Ellen
Louisa Keiko
Louisa Alexandra
Louisa Siobhan
Louisa Zainab
Louisa Winifred
Louisa Rosamund
Louisa Shireen
Louisa River
Louisa Bridget
Louisa Astrid
Louisa Maren
Louisa Gwendolen
Louisa Nasrin
Louisa Haven

It's one of my favourite names, and it's a family name for me. I'd happily use it, but my husband doesn't like it.I like the combos Louisa Caroline, Louisa Miriam and Louisa Katherine.
